Well ok, maybe the very least little bit, I might remember when I first put it in there but I don't notice it now. Hows that?
for those interested, I had to find fluid at the weekend to do a slave cylinder swap (from OEM to Oberon), and couldnt find anywhere selling the right stuff. So I used LHM hydraulic fluid, which is a mineral oil for hydropneumatic syspension systems, such as on Citroen's, some Merc's, RR, and old BL stuff, exactly the same colour and weight as the stuff already in there and seems to work just fine, and cheap too, I got it for £4 for a liter from Halfords.
Just be sure to not get fluid intended for the Hydrolastic system used in some BMC/Rover suspension. It is not mineral oil. 49% alcohol 49% distilled water 1% triethanolamine phosphate 1% sodium mercaptobenzothiazole
It's all mineral oil, just with different additive packages. ATF and fork oil are actually designed to be lubricants, whereas mineral oil from the drug store- not so much.
I've used synthetic fork oil in my 990, 690 and 300 for years with great results. The same stuff I use in my forks. Max
