Yup! me and a few others you will know, looks like a good ride in progress!

For those of you that know, tell me more about these studs? Can you use them on the roads to connect trails, as we so often do? or are they ice only?

I may be mistaken but weren't those made for your wife to give out AT your wedding? Maybe I just heard about them at your wedding or am mixing up multiple tales...

I know that the state of CT won't allow tire screws on the trails and the Snow Run Enduro specifically bans them. There was some discussion about the screw in studs, but I don't remember which way the decision went.

I use Trelleborg ice tires that come made up with the European friction spikes already installed.

We have a guy in our club who has a tire stud gun and every once and a while we do the car stud game. I still have a box of car studs kicking around. I also have some friction spikes that are useable that I tore out of a tire that was dry rotting. I don't know if a special gun is needed to put the Euro spikes in.

Husky did the same thing last year with their left over bikes...you could find the street legal 449's for $5999. The key to getting a plate would be 1. check to see if it comes with a "motorcycle" COO instead of a "for offroad use only" or use the VT work around that is discussed somewhere in the forum.

pretty sure the husky's all are plateable, but not positive about the txc (although looking at cafehusky there are dealers that sell the kit for it, and it says plug and play).

Hey, if there is still need for trail clearing on the south loop, keep me in the loop.:D Looks like a project for my new chain saw mounting system on the TE610. I'll plan for Tuesday, so keep me updated.

I have a rear rack on the 610, so I bolted the chain saw case to the rack near the back and then used a heavy duty bungee (roc strap?) to hold it down in front. This has not been tested yet, but it does feel quite stable.

that looks extremely uncomfortable and perhaps a huge saw??

I was hoping for something more like this but mounted over the rear wheel rather than the front...

EDIT/PS: who mounts a Craftsman chainsaw on a Husqvarna bike???

there was actually a company who made a front chainsaw mount for bikes.. but they stopped making it.. there is a Husaberg 390 for sale in the classifieds with one mounted. I mounted my chainsaw to the back of my 570 to see how stable it would be, and I could easily get it to the trees that still block the south loop..but I wouldnt be able to get out to Pachaug before next Thursday. I have a General visiting on Wed and I need to try and make it look like I actually do some work before then or I may be retiring earlier than I think :D

It does look large, but I think that is because of the case. It also allows for carrying fuel and oil. I don't know the saw size, but it is a small back yard type saw. I did ride the bike down the street and it seemed okay. We'll see how it works out. At least the hunters should see me.
