    2008 april 26 – from Bastia to Bonifacio [N193, N198]

Starting with the first ferry from Livorno and after four hours of navigation we are finally on the island, descend from the ferry and start to slide a little 'asphalt course under our wheels.

We let the visit Bastia for the last day of our vacation and we head towards Bonifacio, where we stay the the first night but above all we meet with our travelling companions.
We choose the road to get there faster the N193 then the N198.
There are not great roads for motorbike, and even up to PortoVecchio the landscape is not the best.
After there was some panorama that stay at well as in the alps.

Once in Bonifacio we take the rooms, kisses and hugs with our friends, then a walk around of Bonifacio before eating ...

    2008 april 27 – from Bonifacio to Corte [N196, D69, N193]

A couple of photos from the room window
    [IMG]

Then the N196, along the beautiful Corse coast, with a series of bay, dreaming a beautiful sailing boat and let soothed by the wind ...

The National gone away from the coast towards inland to Sartene
    [IMG]

    continue inside
    [IMG]

then abandons the N196 found the D69, which drive throughout the inland up almost to our destination.
The streets are actually narrow, dirty, etc., but the views you can enjoy are very beautiful!

The curves not miss so we taste it!

Another animals at the middle of the curve...

Noone pursue us, so we “walk”to our goal.

At Aullene we stop for a coffee break, and we meet a historical rally
    [IMG]

We restart and go through the first col alias bocca of the Corsica
    [IMG]

Close encounters of the pork kind
    [IMG]

Then entering a zone that wwas blast by the fire, a great calamity for this beautiful island.

The snow is always there in he highest point, the guide told the there was more than 50 point over 2000 mt. in Corsica
    [IMG]

We stop to lunch at the Auberge du col la vaccia, a very nice place.

    Here it is yours brreding
    [IMG]

as almost all those fence is not closed and the animal gone quiet woods and along roads, re-entry only in the evening. The rule applies for everyone: sheep, cattle, pigs indifferently. .

We note in this season the water not miss in Corsica!

We pass the colle de sorba too.

    some other fire damage...

After the col the raod meet the N193 so we go faster forward to Corte.
We have chosen to stay along the Gorge Restonica, another impetuous torrent at l'Albergo Dominique Colonna also reported for the restaurant which is located near the parking lot, thus enabling us to stay in a more "wild" and not having to take bikes also evening. It will prove an excellent choice.

The torrent is magnific, here some take with the tripod.

    2008 april 30 – from Corte to Calanchi di Piana [D18, D84, D81]

The goal of today are the “Calanchi di Piana”, beautiful rock formations that stand out on the sea along the coast of Piana, in particular the evening they switched on a fire red colour.

The road to get there is definitely curvesly(?), in fact from Corte must take a pass to almost 1500 meters, the Col of Vergiu.
But already the first kilometer, when we enter the valley of the torrent Golo, close to the Scale of Santa Reggina, we notice that it will be a series of very beautiful landscapes.

Many are the stops to admire the course of the torrent, fed by a dam to produce electricity.

The road gone up like a snake tinside a forest of trees, the temperature is low, but it's fine the sun is high.
    Up to the pass
    [IMG]

    No straight, only curves!

    Other curves, other animals...

Arrive at Evisa, from we get a beauty panorama of the valley of Porto river.

Gorges del Speluca, make from the torrent Porto is truly profound, and the feeling is enhanced by the road that stay in high quote without too much protections.

Porto, with the warning tower, beautiful beach ... and the port ...

Finally the Calanchi di Piana, first in order of appearance the "head of the dog"

    Cargese and is port
    [IMG]

    Yet the coast of Calanchi

    2008 may 1 – from Corte to Desert des Agriates [N193, N197, N1197, D81]

Today is an intense day: first the Desert des Agriates with its beaches.
Departure and fast road to the intersection leading to the Desert. Call desert not because of the presence of dunes or what else, but especially for the almost total absence of a uman fixed presence.

Today goal is the beach of Saleccia, reachable by a grovel road about 15 km.
There was filmed the landing scenes of the "the longest day".

To move a little the return we take the parallel of N1197 passing through Novella, which then connects with the splendid N197, which runs along the river San Colomano first and then Navaccia.
Here finally I can photograph raptors that fill the skies of this incredible island, the other usually did not have the nice to wait I mounting my tele...

We return for the last evening at the Restonica, and then decide to travel the 14 kilometers that separate the hotel from the end of the valley.
The gorges is beautiful, although she also shows signs of fire.
The quote rises from 600 meters up to 1400 of the last parking, where start the trekking paths
At some point I had to put the camera around the neck because i stop every second to take pictures, I was afraid to broken the zip tankbag for too use!

    2008 may 2 – from Corte to Bastia [N193, D80, D81]

Today transfer from Corte to Bastia, where we sleep. We decide to reverse the lap we had thought to allow the sun and the coast to our right, in order to have better visible and photo light.
The road up to Bastia runs away fast, with some curve but nothing that.
But just past Bastia, on north, is an infinite sequence of fantastic bays, crystalline water and photographic stops. We have put a lot of time, but it is really worth the penalty.
    Without words ...

Past Macinaggio the road gone away from the coast, but we do not miss the visit to Barcaggiu
    [IMG]

Stop at Mulinu Mattei to admire the San Florent Golfe and the white mountains in the back
    [IMG]
