Glad to help! If you get them watch the install video on their site, I had the video handy so I could follow steps it was much easier then the directions. The main trick on the right side is loosen BOTH rear exhaust bolts so you can squeeze the bars in place

Installed them last fall. I was doing exactly that! Watching the video at the same time! :rofl:rofl

Installed the Hepco-Becker bars today. I was looking hard at the SW Motech but I snagged these for only $100 instead.
I like the look and the price was right. Certainly better than nothing. :D

I don't own a GS but rather an R. Do you guys think that what's true of the GS models will hold true for other models by the same manufacturers?

I installed the adventure spec bars last night. I am really happy with them. They stick out away from the bike and provide coverage a little higher. I live in the US and they were here in less then 5 days (Ordered Monday and received Thursday).

Does anyone know if the adventure spec crash bars work with the large touratech gas tank? http://www.touratech-usa.com/Store/PN-048-0382/Large-Fuel-tank-F800GS-Dark-Magnesium

Or are there any crash bars that work with this tank?

    Folks,
wanted to know if the Wild@heart bash plate will work with the H&B crash bar set up on a 2009 F650gs twin?

I'm trying to buy a bash plate from an inmate and want to make sure it'll work with my current H&B crash bars.

    thanks in advance!

    They don't.

Not to my knowledge. Some would argue the tank itself becomes the crash "bar". Anyone?

Having seen composite tanks split from a fall and given how far out that big TT tank sticks out, I wouldn't bet money on it being any kind of a crash bar substitute. If anything I'd want a good set of hard panniers at the back, plus bark busters etc to help hold it up out of the worst in a slide and pray it doesn't fall over onto a big sharp rock!

Tough and good as TT stuff is its still plastic and plastic vs rocks (combined with weight and speed) IME tends to lose! :ear

I know it has probably been asked , so I apologize in advance. Do the BMW bars protect the side plastic panels at all? They don't appear to, but just wondering if anyone has experience with them.

Would Adventure-spec crash bars work with the OME bash plate?

And where could I buy those in USA?

    Thanks.

OME? like the orignal BMW bash plate? Yes... my pictures above are the BMW original bash plate the the ADV spec bars. Pretty sure ADV spec is based out of the UK but they ship anywhere.

Koby - nice one I have a set sitting in my lounge until tomorrow when I pick up the bike :D

Question - do you know the torque value for the top engine bolt? The instructions as you know only mention 'manufacturer's specification'...

    thanks
    George

You may have seen this at the top, but I live in the US (Oklahoma) and they were here the same week they were ordered. They seem to be really sturdy and good quality.

I am thinking about buying the metal mule crashbars because I touch the adventurespec bars with my knees, very annoying!

Does anyone know if the metalmule bars conflict in any way with the oem bmw engine guard/bashplate?

My bad thought the H&B bars were the SW Motech ones.
