Ok I hate the brakes on my RD, I rebuilt them top to bottom and I cannot get them to work.
I have worked with closed systems before and these suck, I can't get them to work :becca:becca

Welcome to the wonderful world of the RD 400 F Daytona brake system !

Worst RD system ever made ! Even if you get them bled right, they still suck compared to other RD's brakes .

I know what crap, I am thinking of ditching them and find some 2-3 pot nissin/Brembos and make mounts for them, and run them instead of the stockers :evil

Dont waste your money. R 6 stuff is a dime a dozen these days and FZR masters are dirt cheap.

When I have trouble bleeding brakes I use a zip tie to hold the lever in overnight. Somehow the air works its way up and out of the system.

I usually will leave the bleeder cracked open, top off, while filling master, keep pumping pushing the air out. When I get a pretty good stream out of the bleeder, I hold the lever down and shut the bleeder. Then bleed normally. If I still feel there is air in there, I leave the top off, squeeze the lever, release lever really slowly (like a sun dial) and watch it pull the bubbles out, back into the reservoir. Works every time.

Nice, I will probably do some later down the road, I have made mounts for mountain bicycles, now days I don't have a milling machine for the ease of making them, but I will be going south and my friend has a shop :evil . Hey I have a question, can I use a lefty side caliper for the rear of my Bike ???????, I can't think of any reason to not :ear
