    Fellas,

I'm heading an expedition down to St. George next weekend for some mountain biking. My wife is giving me a pass since our baby is due in March.

We're going to ride 2-3 trails in SG on Friday and then Gooseberry Mesa on Saturday.

If any of you able-bodied fellas want to meet us down there, the more the merrier.

There's about 4-5 locals going down and we're meeting some guys from Vegas, too.

    PM me for details.

Well Matt- word is that they are running Dutchmans. I watched the videos and I'm pretty sure we ran it 2 or 3 years ago at the RR.

Not sure the 690 deserves that kind of abuse. Particularly since I failed to get a 14 tooth sprocket and a better chain guide/guard.

The guy I sold my Wr250 to is trying to talk me into going and riding it. (He will lend it to me.) BUT, he won't tell me how much I would owe him if I totaled the thing. He also set up the suspension for 170 lb guy and I am well... slightly over that by about 100 lbs with gear on.

    So the questions are :

    Orange or Blue??
Who will be out at Knolls tomorrow?

Dutchmans is where my 990 met its end. I wouldn't take a 690 down it unless you want to do some repairs.

I may not be headed down, I am moving my warehouse and may have to do the final move that weekend. If I don't go you can borrow my 250sx if you want. The suspension may be a little soft though buy should be ridable. The other option is run novice and do one loop.

I think I will ride the WR250. I'm not racing anyways- I just want to get out and ride.

On this link is the best rebuttal to the radical enviro-nazi attempt to expand / create the Greater Canyonlands National Monument. The guy who wrote this rebuttal is well acquainted with the area:

    :deal

Now if only the folks in the Utah Legislature - and in Washington DC - would read it!

Nice read acidman. I have sent letters to my congress critters and submitted public comments... not sure anyone is :earthough.

Went out to Knolls today. Snow is deepest I have ever seen it out there. Some sand was peeking through, but very little. Bowls had drifted in and it was 18"-24". Made for some interesting crashes and riding technique.

Probably not worth the drive out there for a few more weeks at least. Oh well, we tried.

Thanks. Unfortunately nothing is smooth when you have to have things approved by the DOD

thanks Acidman for posting that link to the sagebrush coalition.

indeed, Lynn Jackson put together a very informative and concise rebuttal to the pro monument arguments. i'm much more informed now.

Well the 690 survived Dutchmans with only a few new scrapes on the skid plate, but it wasn't easy. I am one sore, wore out dude today.

It was great seeing Fano, Commander51 and meeting Kanook and the rest!!

I think Kanook summed up Dutchmans best when he said "Why would you put that in a desert race"? Couldn't agree more...

    Glad it survived.

I can't believe they sent the novice down it. That's just mean.

Thinking about a ride April 7th,8th,9th down to Moab, Monument Valley, Lake Powell area and back... A weekend of camping and debauchery. Any takers? Though I had better bring it up now so the working stiffs can get the time off if needed. :ear
