Hey guys, I'm in San Diego, Bay Park/Mission Bay area specifically.
I run RaceTech Electric out of Ocean Beach, we build stators, voltage regulators, and electronic components.
I've got an 85 FJ1100 at the moment for street, and a KX250F on long term loan for dirt. Up for street and dirt rides anytime!
Also available to help out if local guys need a hand. I'm an electrical specialist, and a decent wrench.

Evan, i just bought a LED brake light kit for my XR650R Dualsport. It is a dual output Ricky Stator. The LEDs work when I connect them to the DC regulator and ground it, but I do not think I can wire them to AC brake light, so they turn off with kill switch system. I drive at night and obviously the Baja Designs brake lamp needs backup .

Hey bud. Are you in SD? I can take a look if you'd like. LED's are intended to, and are happy being powered from a DC current source. You'll notice they have to be hooked up in the correct polarity orientation, as they won't light in one direction. Generally black to ground, and then one wire is brake light, and one wire is running light. You can usually power an LED light on a AC current source. The LED's will light when current polarity is correct to pass current through the diode (positive polarity), and they have a decay time. The time the current polarity is negative in an alternating current source is usually less than the decay time, so your LED's will usually stay lit and not be too noticeable. Like you said though, you can't light them without your engine running if you're driving them on an AC lighting output.

I may have space if you are just looking for bike storage.

I'm looking for a longer term solution for keeping and working on one bike, with the possibility of two bikes at any given time. I live in an apartment without a garage, and keeping two bikes can be a challenge if you like them to be out of sight of prying eyes and the elements, and you occasionally need somewhere to work on them.

Just had a shocker, in TN Cycle Gear charged $20 a tire to change them and in San Diego they charge nearly double... Anyone know a cheaper place to get tires swapped and balanced? Wheels are already off the bike and I have the tires ready to go.

I have a friend that does it for 10$ mount and balance. It's on his time, which is saturday open garage time at his house. If anyone is interested, PM me for info. I will require that we go together for the first time, and I will explain the rules of using HIS HOUSE as a bike maintenance location. Nothing is charged, donations only. (except for the tire changes)

Nope, wire or mag. It's all good. I should point out that you have to pull them.

Thanks for the tip. It was $30 a wheel at Clairemont Cycle but only $20 a wheel at Full Throttle Motorsports in Santee... Nothing else to do today so the drive out to Santee to save $20 was worth it.

I just paid forty bucks to put a back tire on my Tiger 800XC at South Bay Motor Sports.

Full Throttle Powersports in Santee at the end of 125 N. I don't have the exact address, but his # is 619 258-0400. The guy who runs it (Mike) is pretty cool and the prices are great.
