    Here's my own personal 'windpomp'. It spins in the wind, but it doesn't really pomp anything.

    Have I mentioned I hate these damned wind turbines? Our beautiful countryside is slowly being ruined by these wind farms. Sure, yeah, yeah, green energy is good and all that, but I miss the beautiful natural green rolling hills of ireland... Now we got feckin wind farms popping up all over the place...

    Heck, My electricity bills aint falling....

    Here's a photo of my bike with a little windpomp in Overijssel, the Netherlands. It's a tjasker, a very simple design that has been in use from the middle ages. There are only a few of them left. It was mostly used by farmers for draining their land. This one has some kind of stand, but many were mounted on a pole. If you had several poles standing on your land you could easily move the tjasker if you needed it somewhere else.
