Here's my own personal 'windpomp'. It spins in the wind, but it doesn't really pomp anything. There are loads of real ones out here in the land of Oz though. Surely someone must have some shots of some. :)

Ireland, somewhere near Galway. Have I mentioned I hate these damned wind turbines? Our beautiful countryside is slowly being ruined by these wind farms. Sure, yeah, yeah, green energy is good and all that, but I miss the beautiful natural green rolling hills of ireland... Now we got feckin wind farms popping up all over the place... Heck, My electricity bills aint falling....

Here's a photo of my bike with a little windpomp in Overijssel, the Netherlands. It's a tjasker, a very simple design that has been in use from the middle ages. There are only a few of them left. It was mostly used by farmers for draining their land. This one has some kind of stand, but many were mounted on a pole. If you had several poles standing on your land you could easily move the tjasker if you needed it somewhere else.
