I always go for rides out lithgow way. Know the area pretty well now. Probly head out for a ride this Sunday if anyone wanted to meet up. I have a Yamaha tenere. I live at Hornsby too Another place which I haven't rode but taken the 4wd through a couple of times would be from wombeyan caves to Janolan caves. Could do it in a day but I think it's best enjoyed over a weekend.
Scotty, I might [note only "might" at this stage] be up for a ride this Sunday. I'm located near Windsor. Ock.
I'm in the same boat. Moonan will see me out for this year. Someone with some local knowledge should propose a date for a ride in Jan so we can pencil it in.
Hi, I'm in the same boat, Had a R1100GS for a while now but only done a few gravel roads because I no longer have riding buddy. I'm keen for weekend rides around Blue Mountains and Hunter Area. I know a few 4x4 Tracks around the Hunter/Putty Rd area that should be ok for bikes. Also in the next few month my Mrs will get her own 650GS and "Apparently" keen Mixed road riding. We're over near Manly on the beaches. PM or Facebook me (bschwarze@ hotmail . com) next ride. Probably early new year is looking good. -Bryan.
I might well be up for the 15th. Are you thinking just about a day ride or going for an overnight? When it comes to day stuff, Wombeyan Caves is certainly do-able. It's about an 80-100klm run down the freeway to go in via Mittagong. There is also a pretty cruisey run up through Lower Portland along Wheelbarrow Ridge road out onto The Putty and up to Colo Heights road out to Bilpin. There also the run up The Bells Line and in at The Zigzag and out along The Blackfellows Hand Trail. All are easy day runs for which you could turn Wombeyan Caves and The Blackfellows out to Newes into overnighters. I am also in Shire territory in Kirrawee. cheers Matty...
Yea I think its just a day trip We could do the wombeyan caves ride. Its a good ride and ok for a day trip. Regards Mke
[Hey guys just a reminder I am still on (L) and new to the sport. If thats ok, lets ride on the 15 th for the day. Regards Mike QUOTE=aussie ttoad;20160664]The idea of an overnighter sounds good. Can definitely make Saturday though[/QUOTE]
Hey guys just a reminder I am still on (L) and new to the sport. If thats ok, lets ride on the 15 th for the day. Regards Mike Yeah, no worries. A day ride is fine, looking forward to it. Have you anywhere in mind you plan on going Jason
No plan yet on what to do . Matty on this thread is keen to ride with us on the 15th. Look no plan yet but a mix of road and dirt would be good. a ride to the Mittagong could be good, there must be fire trails around. Mike
Yes I am keen for a ride. If you're going to Mittagong a Wombeyan Caves circuit would certainly be in order.
Hi matt cant make any rides before christmas unless they are mid week, but would like to go looking for the ghost ship in the new year:eek1
HI On the way down can we go via Princess HWY, Appin RD , Wilton RD and then on the Hume to Mittagong. That shoud make the ride to Mittagong a good mix. Mike
Has anyone been down the Barnaby rd from Taralga and then onto the swollowtail track back towards canyonleigh? Are there any locked gates etc. It looks like a good way back if you don't want to trace your step home.
