ROMA! I think you should sell me your bike on the account of we're practically neighbors (i live in poestenkill) and I have 0 bikes and you have at least 2.
I know where there's a non running R60/5 for sale in S. Texas. It can probably be had for $1500, along with a couple boxes of parts.

I think this one is drop dead. What do the experts say? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972...ryZ49977QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Mine are the Keihan's stainless steel exhaust. Here's my Dad's setup with windshield (I ride it nekkid). Please observe the engine badge, no black in it, bike is a 1972 SWB:
It looks pretty good. Much better than the last one. As for shipping, I'm having a bike shipped from Miami to Portland Oregon and just about the best price was $600, though the shipper I'm using will cost $670. A real deal for a real pro - he moves only bikes. Check this one out: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/mcy/497547566.html There's also one listed on the BMW MOA site for $4600 with 15K on the clock and looks well worth it.
Take some of your Christmas money (assuming you have been a good fellow and get any) and join. Good source of info and the anonymous book is mighty comforting to have in your tank bag!
I plan on it, but thanks mista. Listen to this. I went to maxbmw in troy to see if they had any /5's in.. I knew they probably didn't, since I've been getting a call from them when they get one in. But I thought I'd go and check it out anyhow. Well anyway, the floor guys are yelling back and forth "we still got that /5?".."oh no, we sold that to johnny really quick", when a customer chimes in..."I got one. Blue toaster, 40k, r75". I then shit my pants and took his info. I'm going to look at it later today!!!! Anyone know mike biddy from vt?
If you are going to reference the color, please do so correctly: It's Curry, Metallic Gold, or just plain beautiful... Nowhere should it be called plain orange.
This is the third or fourth time this same bike has been on eBay. Additionally, it has been brought up before here on the site, and discussed ad nauseum; do a quick search, or I can after I get to CA. That said,I can quickly say that there are a few items that are not correct; I can't remember if it is the original paint. Is it close to you??
I am pickin' up what you're puttin' down, and would not be surprised that they are original. That said, the general concensus is that the background changed w/ the '72 model year (although I think the silver ones look better...) kix
