Nice, 2 Guzzi`s and a Elefant? you suck. At least ya coulda waited a few months for me. Guess Im gonna have to speed up my search to make a How about a "lets see your Elefant". I parted with mine about 6 months ago. Kinda miss it. BTW, You been riding in hell? route 666? like to see the accident statistics on that stretch, My karma would find me there surely.
A lot of my pics are still waiting to be scanned, but here are few.. The car in the background is an much loved and terribly abused 83 VW GTI. The beast in the middle is a 75 850T tarted up to look like a 750S. I dont remember the cam that was in it, but I believe it had 38 mm dellortos with accelerator pumps. Came on the throttle with massive amounts of torque, and made a truly wonderful racket. The bike in the foreground, that you can just see the fairing on, is a 1980 SP1000. Lightened flywheel, dual plugged, Bubb aftermarket sump with a spinon oil filter, Corbin saddle. A wonderful bike. This picture was taken in about 85. I found this picture on the wildguzzi.com website about a yeear ago. Sure looks like my old 850. Glad to see it went to a good owner This picture is from the Guzzi rally in Arizona in 1992. A Lemans done up by a guy called Charlie Rice from Ojai Ca IIRC. I dunno if theyre still around A friend of mine in Half Moon Bay, 1992. His bike got nicknamed the Fast Orange Tractor. Ill add more as I get them scanned.
Here's my 1986 Le Mans 1000 project. The 1000 had the _very_ ugly `80s Lario optic and I'm not brave enough to go public on this: Yet underneath it's a plain old Guzzi that wants to be free. Previous owner was a nutcase and installed Honda CBR900 tripletrees and all kind of bullshit so I'm busy at work. Installed original tripletrees last weekend, corrected front axle, steering damper and front fender. Next is an aluminium dashboard and a carbon Le Mans I fairing, fitting the round Jackal headlight. The seat is a Giuliari from a Honda 500 Four that will be upholstered in black leather. Tank colour is still in discussion. The 40mm Dell'Orto carbs need a good cleaning and setting up. Plan is to be ready by early march. I'll sleep in the workshop this weekend. Will post pics of the finished result.
Great stuff! Come on you other lurking Guzzisti, show off your goodies. Below: 2000 Jackal at the top of Snowbowl road just outside of Flagstaff... ...and going south on Hwy 93 in Neveda, the girlfriend at the helm: Below: 1974 850-T at rest (next to my bus)... and with me at the entrance to Canada north of Glacier Nat'l Park. And finally the 1971 Ambassador with Spirit of America sidecar.
No wife, no kids. I spend my money on motorcycles. Route 666 has been renamed to Route 491 in New Mexico and Colorado in the last few years. That photo was taken in 1999. There was a Texaco station there with it's pentagram logo and some indians selling buffalo skulls in addition to the Route 666 roadsigns. I just had to get the picture !!!
Damn! I had a restored '72 LAPD Eldo but I don't think I have any pictures. I'll have another Guzzi some day maybe the forthcoming California Vintage.
Sean, did you take that picture outside of the checkpoint north of Chief Mountain? I have a similar photo of myself there in the 90's on a K-bike. I've already posted my Guzzis on another thread but here is a photo of my California SS...
"No wife or kids" ,me neither, I consider my bikes my love children.Thats how I con my G friend into the big family thing. besides bikes are cheaper.
Not mine; belongs to a guy in Austin who I picked up a PD from. 70 or 71 Eldorado, as I recall. Just dusty, it should clean up good.
