My schedule has not allowed me to start on this bike yet. Hopefully next week! And I found another hidden gem that will be revealed soon!

I believe it is even rarer than the R69 and it does have a BMW roundel on it!

    plunger frame, then?

I agree and suggest as a step toward restoring equilibrium that you ship beemer x to the southwest corner of the US.
I will happily provide an address.

No need to thank me and please include a bag of M&Ms (peanut).

Yes, the forks are very like those on a /5. The tubes and "innerds" are interchangable. The fork bellows are the same, as is the top or upper yoke. The lower yoke is real close but the steering stem is longer. The lower legs are very close but not the same. The cap nuts on the bottom of the legs is the same. The set-up on the fork brace is the same except for the forward loop (which is near impossible to find).

The frame is NOT plunger as suggested. The rear shock tubes hold proper shocks and springs and it has a proper swing arm. This is something that the old motorcycle magazines got wrong and everybody just kept saying it, perpetuating a falsity.

of course, I was speculating about the two-wheeler mentioned in post #47.
which has been loosely described as rarer than a R69 and bears a roundel.

admittedly, a monkey bike with a BMW logo slapped on it would also fit the description, being fairly rare (if one includes the roundel as part of the whole).
