    Loving the live timing!

    edit to add:
    Semi 1 is lining up!
Turn four is a high sider! It looks to chuck the racers as they get in the middle of the turn. Semi winner #20 about got thrown off bike and track on last lap at that corner. :scary

There is nothing like watching those bikes kick it up and flop around in the cushion and groove, while fighting for lines.

Flat Track Live reports the AMA may shut off the stream for the main events due to agreement with SPEED who is showing the races on Sunday. Only upside is that there may be live streaming from other races this year. One can hope.

I'd complain but it was pretty damn cool to see the heats.

+1 He is a good kid. I went to high school with Kevin and our parents grew up together. Still get to hang out sometimes when he is back in town. The Athertons wrenched for Brad last year and he stayed with them here in Michigan during the season. I met Brad the first time a few years ago when he was in town with Kevin. What a super laid back kid. Hope he does well this season.

Brad led a lot of laps last night but came home second... Maybe he can seal the deal tonight.

The rulebook is quite specific. No coatings can be added...no backdated or updated parts may be swapped...AND..............................................
The AMA is not running the races, DMG (Daytona Motorsports Group doing business as AMA Pro) is running the show and applying the rules. The AMA sold Pro racing to DMG 5 years ago.
The Kawasaki forks are legal because the coating comes stock on the Kaw forks from the factory.
All that said....THERE ARE TOO MANY RULES!!! If it doesn't give a rider an unfair advantage let them race!
The Daytona short track will be shown on SPEED Sunday (March 17) at 6 PM eastern, 5 PM central. Probably the last flat track race ever on that channel!

But its the "History", cant have engines being used on a Mile track designed within the last 10 years.

And really,100 HP is about more then can be used on a mile, wheelspin is the thing even using that much. If Kawi's can be made to hook up and win then Harley needs to step it up.
But then the XR750 needs a full rebuild if run too hard on a Mile.$$$$$$$$$$!

If the sport is going to move on then changes will have to happen, and Harley is unlikely to build a new Flattrack engine.

(Im just thrilled there's 4 Nationals in CA this year!)

Santa Rosa was a great old school cushion track with dirt flying everywhere and sideways bikes at speed!

I asked Bryan Smith how scary it was going completely sideways out by the haybales coming off 4 at Santa Rosa........he was nearly backwards wide open sideways shooting a huge roost leading the main for quite a while till the low line came in.

He said something to the effect "Really effing Scary"

Its neat at a National Flattrack that you can walk out on the track while they interview the winners then chat with them afterwards a little and ogle the umbrella girls.

All the events at Prescott Downs were packed, and it was a good venu for the race. Why people can not come together and make something like that happen again is beyond me.
