Tall version? you mean the one listed for the Dakar being taller than the standard gs? What do you mean moving onto Dakar stature. How much is postage to Australia? I've moved the pegs back as well, which is just making the bike feel cramped. I hadn't riden it much for a long while and just can't understand how I've ever thought it was comfortable.
Its 4 days to Sarasota, so order now. By the way, I am an Arcadia boy! Bet ya didnt see that comming!!
I was thinking plain/carbon but I see that combo isn't offered for the Dakar. I'm thinking the embossed cover might hold dirt too much. What do you reckon, the gripper/carbon?
The gripper will hold the MOST dirt! I can do plain carbon, but that will take a couple of days to sew up. The dimples in the embossed a very small. Bundy
Thanks for offering to customize the cover. How durable is the embossed material and what combo would you recommend most? Daily commuter and riding tarmac twisties/gravel and dirt roads on weekends.
Wasn't too hard to install once I got the air gun. Very happy with the seat. Only one real ride with it but the seat went unnoticed for the first time :) . It was a little slippery at first but must have been broke in some as the traction was just right on a dual sport ride.
Got my seat installed today. Didn't even need an air-staple gun. Standard stanly staple gun did a great job.
I too tried the "craftsman" staple gun, then an electric one from Home Depot. Both were failures... Read up about it and ordered one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Surebonder-96...2398016&sr=8-1&keywords=surebonder+staple+gun Incredible difference. If you have an air source, invest the $25, you won't be sorry! The seat that Seat Concepts made for my KLX is a night and day difference from the stocker! Looking for the one for the Super Tenere that is in development. Hurry guys! My ass hurts!
About a year ago, I bought a SC foam base for the DRZ, and I made my own seat cover, because I couldn't afford the whole enchilada from SC. I LOVE THIS SEAT. It's been so much better than the stock seat, and two other replacements. I can actually ride all day with only minor discomfort now. Bravo Seat Concepts! I made a renazco style cover for mine, with the suede top and heavy vinyl sides. Came out sweet. I spent dozens of hours on it, but it was worth it. I learned to use a large industrial machine as well.
I should have had bundy do this one like he did my ktm. That turned out perfect. I hate to buy a tool that i will never use
My order arrived in a matter of days -- then, of course, life intervened, and I didn't get a chance to install it until last week (left the cover in the sun for a couple of hours, as suggested, and used my non-powered staple gun, slowly and carefully). I would apologize for not posting up my very positive experience, but, you know, I've been out riding my KLR . . .this seat has made a world of difference, for me . . . . . . . Huzzah, Seat Concepts!
I used 1/4" staples, and yes, there was some times where it would not go all the way in, but I was persistent. Maybe I should get a pic...... Took the bike out for a ride; What a difference! These seats are a huge step up from the stocker.
