Trokel that Husky - so pretty.

You have done a great job with the FJR too - an eclectic collection.

You should've seen the pain every time he came back from riding the thing. But the grin suggested every ache was worth it. :nod

I didn't catch up with anyone else, Phyllis & Leannie came past, but that was it. The weekend is so full on that there is basically no option to go searching people out unless you're prepared to forgo a session. And that's not gonna happen!

The XS went out for two laps. Just too flaming big to have any real fun on it.:eek1 And I jumped straight back on the 250. That's better - as the videos may show, when I've edited them. Watch this space.

The LC had yet another failure:(:. Short version is that the water leaked back into the gearbox. Fortunately I parked it before any damage. It seems that the water seal I thought was the problem wasn't the problem. It has a different problem, probably at the water pump. Well, fingers crossed on that one. Give you the drum though, when it was running (and I was at the right revs) it goes like the duck shot up the arse!:raabia

Troy & I were both passed by Magoo. I kept up with him.....for about 3 feet.:lol3 And it is in the video.

I hope the bloke on the Bimota gets to see it. Not everyday a Bimota gets passed by a 42 year old 250 two stroke!:clap On the brakes! so where is the advantage of the discs over my tls front drum?:rofl I tried to ride around the outside of him on the left turn on to the bottom straight, just didn't have enough g.o.:ricky

    Fuck it's fun!

    That about sums it up.

    Some pics from Saturday

Sir Al Cathcart was giving the photographer a heap of instructions on how he wanted the T-Rex bike photographed, "...engine both sides, brakes up close, Wootton sticker ....." and then went and got Rex Wolfenden to come and pose with him. My hunch is that he's doing an article about the bike.

    You think?
I edited a mag that carried his stories in the 1980s, so met him any number of times then, chatted a few times in the 90's in the UK - and met him again at Broadford last year; Over that 30-year period, he was ALWAYS friendly, affable, good company, polite - and bloody fast. He just loves bikes and has found a way to have fun for a living.
And Rex is a top bloke too - he knocked up some stuff for my daughter's bike in short order and has fabricated top-quality one-off parts for several of our bikes over the last decade or so.
Alan appreciates fine craftsmanship - and that's exactly what Rex does; I'd have loved to have been listening in on their interview - bet it went on for hours!

Ditto on precis' comments, I've only met cathcart once - he was chatting to a mate in his shed - seemed like a regular bloke who appreciated quality craftmanship. Introduced himself as Alan, didn't seem fussed that I'd interupted what turned out to be a magazine interview. Seemed like a thoughtfull inteligent bloke to me?

Come to think of it, I've met many magazine types over the years and the only ones I'd bother listening to are cathcart and precis ( didn't realise you were one of THEM ) . I wonder if it's just that our expectations change when we know we're dealing with magazine types?

I would never have the time/skills/imagination to fabricate and build something like this, I would never have the occassion to ride a bike like this (track day's I've only ever been to a handful) nor do I ride tarmac often (if ever) and have no particular connection to the "60's classic" type era that this beautiful "retro" cafe racer represents (I'm a child of the 70's/80's)...

but this bike "speaks" to me is some way... I looked over this photo for at least 10 minutes. Thank's for posting it. :clap
