Hi, my name is Markus, i`m a 47 year old german and this is not a real ridereport, because the bike is riding on a trailer from Germany to Croatia. :evil this has two reasons. first, my bike is a 2003 MZ Baghira and second, my wife has a huge beautycase:eek1:rofl
So we run with our Volkswagen an the MZ on back to our first location, the island of Cres. A island with fantastic landscape a some unpaved roads in the north :evil
Our first stop was Valun, a small Village, only one road from the hill to the harbour, no cars allowed, instead of suppliers.
    view from the hill
    [IMG]

    from seaside
    [IMG]

the harbour, only 50 m long, four restaurants and one cafe
    [IMG]

first time on the bike. view from Cres (near Beli) in the back is the island Krk
    [IMG]

a short video, the street to beli. sorry my videos are without music, without sectacular stunts ....
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q95iTXeGx0A&feature=plcp

in front the new road and the cobblestone old road with a wooden bridge in the back
    [IMG]

the expression says "no, not really"

later on, crusing around, i found the old cobblestone road, maybe centuries-old
if you are riding on, this road goes direct to the village of beli, you will be arriving next to the restaurant. ... if looks could kill:huh
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1EisaWuBtI&feature=plcp

about a third of the northern part from Cres is a fenced nature park. last breeding habitat of eurasian griffon.
the gate of the habitat was open, but for me, of course it was end of the road.

but ... there was along the outside a track. a real endurotrack, 2mls down the sea. and at the end of the track, there were to new houses, only accesible with boat or over the track i came.

    nice endurotrack
    [IMG]

the way back along the fence
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKwkr1oMix8&feature=plcp

this village, 4 houses, 10 mls apart from the next paved street is called Ivanje
    [IMG]

another village, called Niska. i want to buy this house, but there was no one around to ask.....:1drink
    [IMG]

nearby Filozici, an artist is working with wood. nice idea in the outback, far away from any road
    [IMG]

    somewhere in the forest.

later, on the street, a nice view to the capitol city, named like the island Cres
    [IMG]

    typical mediterranean harbour
    [IMG]

    fresh friuts for the tourists
    [IMG]

and there is a unpaved track from Cres to Valun, were our B&B was. 10mls through oilve grove, not really ambitious but nice to ride, fantastic view
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSUwsvTAwxI&feature=plcp

    bay of valun
    [IMG]

oh markus, open and close cattlegates, don`t overrun them... :-)

thanks for watching, more soon, if you want

next island, short stop on Rab. we visited the city, a artists quarter

every inner courtyard is a showroom. potter, painter ...

watching ships is a preference of me

the following three days it was raining and we startet a tour through national state parks
first Vransko Jezero a bird reserve, because of muddy swamp you have to walk on planks

next was Krka national park, but not watching the falls, just walking in the park

back to town Sibenik i advise the road over Roski Slap, but choose better weather.
a new, well paved road goes down to the river and then it turns into a oneway on stilts

note the road where we came from in the mirror ..

After that, we rode down south to the so called Makarska Riviera

Makarska has a beautiful historic city, nice place to be, drink cappuccino
    [IMG]

nice people at the harbour :evil, fantastic scenery
    [IMG]

selling fresh fish early in the morning. no, i`m not the guy in the blackandwhite underwear...

    ok, another ship.....i like it
    [IMG]

but the best at Makarska is the Biokovo natural resort, a small tollway from 300meters above sealevel up to the top of the Sveti Jure (that means Saint George) at 1762 meters above sealevel. toll is 40 Kuna, but if you did not get a reciept, the man at the gate put the money in his own pocket :evil:D

the tollway is a fantastic paved narrow road, but watch out, there a a lot of wild horses, donkeys runnin around

above treeline a fantastic view early in the morning to the islands Brac and Hvar
    [IMG]

i rode every track to alpin cabins......this time i lost my front mudguard....:huh i dont know how or when, thereto later....

the rope marks the depth of the snow in winter :eek1
    [IMG]

on the top (there is a weather- and radiostation) the whole riviera 1800 meters down below
    [IMG]

there ist a small chapel on the top, a short walk, the highest chapel in croatia dedicated to Sveti Jure (Saint George)

a lot of tracks, all blind end
    [IMG]

backcountry of the riviera.......Bosnia in background
    [IMG]

    want more?

thank you all, the journey goes on

next stop was Brac island next to Makarska, cruisin around stopped in Bo a small lovely village, well known by american tourists (islandhopping with boat and bike)

    nice balcony
    [IMG]

    lazy cats on scooters
    [IMG]

a flock of americans..... riding to their ship :D

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUrZxwUN3kw&feature=plcp

from Bo north an unpaved road goes to Farska (five Houses ;-) )

on top a fantastic view on .................a Volkswagen :D (this was their offroad vehicle, graveltrack down)

later on a nice fishermens cottage
    [IMG]

    old historic cities
    [IMG]

leaving the island at sundowner, the red lighted hills in the background are mainland and 5 mls apart

want more offroad? ok, lets go to Hvar (one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world)
Hvar is abaout 60km long and the first 52km are limited to 40 km/h an there is no overtaking allowed, because...

    .....of this
    [IMG]

what to do? lets find a offroad track, no busses, no speedlimit.....no rush hour :clap
fortunately the only tunnel on the island ist closed for motorcycles
    [IMG]

but there is a way, not through the hill but across, view to the neighbour island Brac (you remember)
    in background Makarska riviera
    [IMG]

going steep uphill is difficult sometimes, standing still means going down...
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieOtQ30MTz0&feature=plcp

but then, early at 10 am the nameless hill is yours alone
    [IMG]

view to seaside Island Korcula and the small island Scedro
    [IMG]

later, way south, it looks bit like australia, red greasy loam
    [IMG]

no i´m not a pussy, but, if you remember, i lost my front mudguard :cry
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-YubYFScz8&feature=plcp

my next kilometers downhill, very funny
    [IMG]

and sometimes you find a way down, small, overgrown. no other man till 3 hours (thats extraordinary in europe..)
to a lonesome bay, cooling down the offroader in the sea
    [IMG]

on the way back to Starigrad (means old city) a little bit Rallyefeeling

Were all the stills photos taken with your HD Hero?

I have been waiting to see photos taken with the HD Hero to see what they were like. If these are the quality of the stills, I am going to buy one.
