Hello Everyone, If anyone knows of someone with some basic electrical & mechanical skills I am currently looking for people to train as Appliance Service Technicians. Shoot me a PM if you're interested or know someone who would be. Neil
Finally cracked and got off my lazy ass and started doing bike work today! And I'll tell you why, last night I met up with John (because he was stuck somewhere, anyway, we got him unstuck) and I almost became sick with envy because he was riding. That was it! Painted EVERYTHING today. Powdercoating fell through so spray paint it is. I'll tell ya, boys.. she looks good. If everything goes smoothly, I should be riding by, let's say... THIS WEEKEND! woohoo! Anybody feel like answering the call if I ask to go for a joy ride somewhere? I really wanna test out my new gear...
Hey Mel, if I can get a working bike out the snow bank, I may be game to go on a ride. The KLX might be the ride ! Will see what happens. Supposed to snow tomorrow !!!
Ok. Well I check ADV religiously so I'll be posting a ride invite the minute I'm good to go. My paint will not be ready tomorrow but I'm going to boot down to mpi and get my sticker cause they're closed on the weekend and if I'm up and running, I refuse to wait until monday The anticipation is KILLING me! I don't know how you all do this every year.
Will they do it by phone? I know some MPI outlets are open Saturday... there are even a couple open Sunday (like the one in St Vital mall). There are limits on what services are available though.
big discounts at Winnipeg Suzuki on motorcycle gear bought this jacket today for $75 http://www.bikebandit.com/alpinestars-p1-sport-touring-drystar-motorcycle-jacket also bought a pair of mx pants for $40 (regular $167.95) and a kidney belt $10 (regular $39.99) last year's stock clear out
What is this "by phone" buisness? some sort of witchcraft? How do I get a sticker to put on my plate through my phone...
I have a wallet full of stickers that all say the same thing. Every time I drop a bike back onto insurance they give me new stickers and new paper. But my original papers and stickers all show the same dates, so I just keep using them until the new ones come in the mail. Then the stickers just sit in my wallet along with the new paper... Let your fingers do the walking...
figure I'll plate mine up next week, notwithstanding hell or high water. I've got heated grips now, which should help my Achilles hands (the only part of me that really gets cold). The roads looked dry enough this week to be able to see where all the sand is. John's bog-hog got me feeling antsy too. Along with one of our custodians mentioning that he saw some crazy bugger with a funny looking sidecar rig out by beaudry park
Hey, I resemble that remark! Just got back from the Suzuki dealer. Mark96 had been there yesterday and bought a jacket... gave me a hint saying that they were blowing out clothing and accessories. Got a pair of Tourmaster Solution waterproof boots (last pair) - $50! They're normally $120 to $130 mail order - perfect! Lots of jackets still on the racks for those interested... and some motocross boots.
They had a few shorter style touring/cruiser style looking boots in mid sizes... worth taking a look (or giving 'em a call?).
Is there something you are trying to tell us. Just kidding. Is Mrs Humvee about to join the ADV world? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
Don't worry I stood up for you, explaining that most KLR types are crazy buggers rather than just you in particular About the only NOS gear likely to fit me would be gloves. Still, I should pop in on a few places and look. I tried an HJC Symax helmet at Wildwood and it ALMOST fit in a non claustrophobic not quite smooshing my nose against the shield way..
Fat chance of that happening...she's not a fan of bikes (but she has gear except for decent boots) When I've had motos...I've commuted to school/work, whatever. We carpool now and I've got the downtown parking spot, so I drop her off at her work...I like to ride as soon as the ice is gone...she doesn't. (she doesn't like to ride at all really). I'm gently telling her that we'll be moto commuting as soon as it's above zero at night, or when our route is ice-free.
