I know how you feel. Looks like I'll finally be getting a little time off for bad behavior next week! :evil

May take a few days and go riding out in and around the mountains west of here! :D :ricky

Try and do a little trip similar to what HBN did here last week.

Hell I don't care what the temps are if I can get a couple of days off for some much needed handlebar time.

Jack's got 450 miles of pretty much nothing but sand, rocks, and cacti ahead of him before he's outta Texas. :eek1

Did I mention that West Texas sucks?

I don't know, the Big Bend area is kinda cool. Then again that's more southwest than just west. :dunno

Doesn't look like Jack will be heading that far south. Hopefully we won't have the same kind of fun that I had in west Texas (the "town", and I do use the term very lightly, of Orla, TX) back on a cross country road trip in '08.

Let me clarify, the area where both Interstates go through Texas west of US-83 sucks. :D

Yeah, talk about a scorcher today! :knary Work was none too pleasant.

But even so, stayed late after work to do a little wrenching on the KLR. Replaced both the front & rear tire, cleaned & re-oiled the air filter, and replaced the handguards. Wanted to clean & re-lube the chain, and change the engine oil, but that'll have to wait for another day, I'm dog tired!

Glad to see you guys are making good time. Bet you can't wait to drop off the truck & trailer and start riding! :ricky

Hey XC, you got your alum. panniers from Ep!c didn't you? I'm in the market.

How would you rate the transaction? A few people are a bit "critical" of his business acumen.

    Thanks,
    Tom

There's some pretty neat stuff along US83. Leakey (which is actually pronounced LAKE-Y :huh) is a nice little town, and is the confluence of three really great twisty roads nicknamed the "Three Sisters" (RR335, 336, and 337). I rode into there at around 10PM one night with a friend and we nearly paid to stay at a nice (but expensive) moto-motel. The scenery in that area reminds of West Virginia. :D

Further north and west of there is nothing but pancake-flat farmland, though. :puke1
