Sadly, I don't have the skills that you do Steve. All I get is wheel spin when I try to loft the front. I can do it on grass, but sand is a no go. The best I can do is compress the front and then lighten it up as I make contact. Or hope the sand is wet enough to get a little wheelie.

And I have finally come to accept that the DRZ is a POS dirtbike. Its great for its intended purpose, but there are much better bikes for doing what I have been doing with it.

Took the XT out for a spin today. This is the "good" road.

Went and reminisced by some old tags from way back when.

Both mistakes are visible in this view.

Was this thing just dumped here or does it belong here?

Somehow I ended up in Kissimmee just as the passenger train pulled in.

Got the flock out of there to greener pastures, or at least muddier.

This was my first time riding through the Green Swamp east of 471. For this dirt n00b it was a challenging mix of sand, mud holes and wash outs.

    Is it always like this?

West of the power lines the road improved, a street bike would do just fine there.
Lately I judge every road by whether or not I could ride the ninja there.

The XT is a blast to ride here. Considering it doesn't have much more suspension travel than my 650, it feels completely different.
The ninja would beat me up, literally.
Does anyone want to trade a DRZ for an XT? I'll throw in a couple of non-functional ninja 2 fiddys :deal

Representing the SCB on the west coast.

Some nice rolling hills along the way.

The small bikes are just so much more fun to ride. The XT handled clay, orange grove sand, pavement and even some highway without complaint.

Nice pix. Mary & I rode thru the E side of Green Swamp for our 1st time late May. ~75 mi from Auburndale to 50 & back...on bicycle rail trails. A toasty but quiet fun workout.

Today I went to the convenience store to pick up some refreshments.

Yes, that is the way to the convenience store. Gotta love it here :clap

Found a really neat place at the end of an orange grove that would make a great picnic site next to a lake.

Notice the XT got a new fairing from ADVmonster

    This guy was camera shy

I got home after dark but didn't even realize it was that late as I had the ADVmonsters burning. I could see every pothole on Phuntime road :D
