If you do ride it let me know if you want some company. I can ride it over
    a weekend.

It's probably going to be a few weeks. I want to take the K1200LT to the dealer in Monterrey and I have some other trips lined up for that bike first.

But yeah ... sounds like a good time! :evil

Believe me, you are better off on the Cuota. BTW, the Libre is not twisty.

Have had that experience several times on the Mont-Saltillo cuota.
Greatly depends on time of day. Some inmate on "Top 10 Roads in
Mexico" (or sumpin') was talking up the libre as a great road.

Must have been :topes -ing me!

    I'll give MX120 a try. Muchissimas!

I usually advocate the Libres as well, but that stretch from Monterrey to Saltillo is a killer with the double-trailer 18-wheelers. Usually I don't mind them, but on that stretch it's particularly bad. It's uphill, slow, and sometimes they are stacked ten deep. Once you get to Saltillo, however the Libres get somewhat normal again. The 18-wheelers don't like to pay the tolls in general, so they ride the Libres.

Get on MX 85, 120, the Espinazo, whatever...sunny day...in the groove...leaning left and right, smelling the pine-scented air, loving life...

Then out of nowhere a doble semirremolque flies 'round the bend, in your lane...and for that fantastic blip of a partial second, your mind tells you there's no place to go...

    Now that's livin' :thumb

I swear by the Odyssey batteries. It's model #PC-680 for recent BMW bikes.

The mont-saltillo libre can be quite fun. I was lucky and didnt get caught up with semi traffic on the bike. It was pretty crazy going into the turns next to an 18 wheeler that was keeping up with me in the down hill! I have however traveled that road many times in a cage with real heavy fog and real heavy traffic. That makes for a pretty stressful drive.

Good to see you guys got this Mexico safety thread back on track:D. Althought it's not as much fun as it used to be. I'm still amazed that it didn't wind up in the basement.:rofl
