Well that's a recipe for disaster! At least I know we will be avoiding ALL water crossing.....won't we? lol
Got an angle grinder? If so, you've got a chain breaker. Just grind the pins off one of the links down to the plate, then punch it out.
I could do that but I don't want to damage the chain and I find that hard to do on the bike. It is my backup plan though...:
If you put the link on the back surface of the rear sprocket, like 2:00 or 3:00, it should be fairly safe and easy to grind the heads off. Just make sure the grinding direction is away from the bike itself. You can even put the bike in gear so the chain stays in place. Easy peasy.
Replacing the old one, which is riveted, not clipped. As Mike mentioned, there are other ways but a chain breaker is the neatest and easiest. Already installed the new sprockets! Chain really isn't that bad but since I have the new one...and I don't know how old the old one is...
Good riding with ya Docman! No disasters, no spills, just short and sweet and lotsa mud. Definitely got the shine off that ORANGE!
Thanks John. New chain installed. Breaker worked like a charm. Easy peasy! And no grinding... Come on weekend... Hope your feeling better Mike cause I hear the fish a calling Bob

Stumbled across some trails soutwest of Odessa. Lots of red dots signifying trail? Anyone ride these? Also, decided to ride back in the ditch from CR6 along north side of Taylar Kidd, came across a couple OPP cruisers sitting in ditch with a speed trap set up. Cop pretty much said I'm good to rip along this ditch...this was AFTER he found out I had a blue plate This has opened up a nice little loop to escape to after work. Would be interested to hook up with someone who is familiar with these trails...guessing there are more of these trails North of Odessa as well? <script>var vglnk = { api_url: '//api.viglink.com/api', key: 'a187ca0f52aa99eb8b5c172d5d93c05b' };</script><script src="//cdn.viglink.com/api/vglnk.js" async="" type="text/javascript"></script>
Be careful. Red dot can signify a no trespassing area as per the trespass to property act.... From my mobile
Bob, have you tested that 13t counter sprocket yet? I had a great afternoon ride out thru Battersea up to Jones Falls and back along the dirt side rd (I think it's called Simpson Rd) hooking up with Burt Hills Rd. back to Battersea....that's a fun lil stretch. Gotta love these Indian summer days!
