Ok back to the toolbox deal. I have seen some pictures on here somewhere that show a PVC toolbox. On my LC4 I have the aluminum sub frame and it does not have the tabs for the KTM toolbox.

I was thinking about a length of PVC with a couple end caps and two BIG ASS hose clamps. Then attaching it right to the sub frame where the tool box is supposed to go? I know I have seen pictures on here? Cant find em? :dunno

    Hey Cacadaca,

I've seen those too, but can't find 'em either. Go buy some PVC and get inventive... :thumb

And make it so the PVC tube can't rotate into the path of the tire.

This goes without saying, but your SX alloy subframe won't take the weight of our heavy cromo subs. I bet a SM geek would buy it, though. :evil

This is how you fix it for $9. Go to a welding supply store and buy a stick electrode holder. This holder is for storing stick electrode for welding. They are tubular heavy plastic about 4 in. diameter and 14 inches long. They have a rubber ring seal with a nice spin off top. It is water proof and strong as a brick. It is great for tire irons because they are long and fit in nice. I connected mine to the charcoal canister bracket. Krylon fusion orange is nearly a perfect color match, or just add mud.

I think someone over at ktmtalk.com made his toolbox from a coffee mug that had a screw-on lid he bought from Wal Mart for $5.

dat's how it works: the peanut gallery keeps the thread high up on page one so the one or two folks with the info see the thread and post the gems. :evil
