HNY as well. We got lucky with no damage I can see so far. Had the wife and cat in the enclosed room we have with the weather radio and phone and airbed. Anyone else here a trained weather spotter? Bike news I am buying the 95 Triumph Sprint from an inmate in AL. Will drive down Monday to pick it up. As for the moving damages story: short version is they crew and driver were fantastic in Cincy. You got the feeling if you stood in one place too long you were gonna get boxed up and loaded. Finished ahead of estimate. The MS crew I think came from a detention center and knew I was a LEO. At least that's how they treated everything tool related. We have a few claims for stuff in the house, they broke an antique butler's table by picking it up wrong and few other things, but not bad. However my tools....my tools.. Let's just say I am into the five digits on damage estimates so far. My 24" dual drum sander feed table - bent. Both band saws- will not return to true. One lathe had the motor end up 15 feet from the bed. And that ones an antique as well. Aluminum dove tail jigs thrown to the concrete floor. Bent. Transit tripod bent. Both air cleaners destroyed. Router table broken. Cabinet table saw: unknown internals, but table wings off, fence system broken. And I'm only about 15% through surveying. I was HOPING to get some shop space and set up to maybe get some canoes done by spring. Oh, and they ripped the engine cover off the bottom of the Honda backing it off the truck. It's not a Ferrari. It's a little higher off the ground... Ry
Right back at you Rob. SPAM ALERT! For the Central MS. guys, I have a really nice fireplace insert for sale. If anyone needs one, or knows someone that needs one. PM me for details. Thanks.
Sounds like it got rough in some areas. Hope no one was injured. I'm down here in sunny FL watching the gator bowl, Go DAWGS. Hope all you had a good Christmas!!!! Happy new year
Ohhh you guys just made a new best friend..lol Actually, I need to re-qual my training. I volunteered to help with some balloon launches up in Wilmington before we left Cincy but the move schedule never allowed it. ry
Don't let Wolfy fool ya, he's not a meteorologist just yet. But then again, I've been out of the game for a few years now. I had to ask him what the Dry Adiabatic Lapse Rate was the other day:huh. Actually the NWS won't refer to me as a "Meteorologist" since I haven't has Calculus III and Diff-EQ. I can (and have) out-forecast those math nerds!
My broken back tells me the same...I wish it would lie sometimes. Off to pick up the 95 Triumph Sprint tomorrow morning. Gonna use it to really get my skills back. I'm really pondering finding out when the next MSF basic rider course is. Between the back, shoulders and knee surgeries I'm gonna have to admit a little apprehension. Hell I didn't walk for almost a year. I loved the Uly but it was way too much for my body at the time. I'd like to do an Iron Butt by next year. Gug
