Here's my mk2 in carbon/kevlar. I'll see how it holds up tomorrow after a ~ 400 km ride I've got planned.

Looks good Michael, how many sheets and what consistency was the layup? Was it vacuum moulded?

I know nothing so maybe we should just go straight to the fencing wire.

Thanks. It's 4 x carbon and one Kevlar mostly, I put a few more layers of carbon closer to the headstock end.

It was just layed up on a temporary mold, nothing fancy. Vacuum bagging is my next project.

Watching with interest

Went for a night ride with the Baja Squadron LED last night...... WOW, amazing how bright the darn thing is.... I need to order one for my 390 Berg for winter trail riding.

How does it compare to the 2x2 rigid?

Here's what happened.

I can see that the pic was taken back in 2008 and it should be a very weird new year's eve from what I can see in the date in the picture... (if the date was set properly I admire your courage to take a picture of that thing the very first day of the year... I could post a picture on new year's day but it will be me with that thing onto my head and my girlfriend chasing me )

Nice piece though.... I was always wondered, is there a reason (except that it accomodates the lights, but again the design can be altered anyways) to make the tower so wide ? I mean, by making it thin, you loose some rigidness but you can put other things to the left and to the right of the tower which will be quite easy to reach. It seems so much space inside the whole tower...

Your kit is mostly interesting cause I would be able to install qty = 2 x 90 mm Hella HID bi-xenon projectors (DOT legal)

Much brighter, I had to cover two of the LED's to not glare out cars coming the other direction. I hammered a trail section near my house and was amazed at how much I could see, it was like riding in the day time

The HID is on the way out, LED is it for me.

It is very expensive.

both are so expensive you can make your bike a Christmas tree with other leds and still have money to buy a Leatherman and build a special holder for it ....

Bracket testing....

I hammered the HDB bracket for 1000 miles of hard core off-road in the past week. It didn't move a mm. I need to test it with my roadbook, but for now it looks like it passed the test (at least in my eyes). You can read about the ride on my website linky in my sig if interested.
