In the picture taken from the rear, there is something at the far right on that rack that I'm trying to figure out what it is/purpose. I have the KTM mirrors on my bike, and love them. Did the skid plate come with all those holes, or did you lighten it? I'll bet shipping the rack would be $$$$$$$$$.

I considered it, but not liking having to use high octane gas. Ramz did one: http://www.rickramsey.net/CRF250Lbigbore.htm

Like I said, have another closer look, it's a galvanised post in the ground 6 feet at the front of the bike:1drink

Hahahah, if I was honest, I would have said I did the same thing, but my pride would be hurt so I won't

Ed, i was not directing that to you.

    And still people moan.

Exactly. Especially when the cost of doing that is about the same as the basic (Z series) YSS shock...and the Cogent Dynamics spokesperson is not even sure about the SHOWA OEM design.

We were talking about the rear shock - specifically, rebuilding it with different components, unknown quantity in terms of results, and at a cost that is about the same as buying a good YSS shock.
The rest, i have probably spent more than most on modifying the bike.

CAT: Absolutely no offense taken. YSS deserves a good look for sure. However, VERY little effort was required to make a BIG improvement on the supposedly unrebuildable KLR shock..sadly, doing anything to the stock CRF shock so far seems unlikely.

The reply to my inquiry to Hagon said, "Unfortunately, we do not have a listing for you bike". Too bad, I did mention the dealers were selling them out all over the world, also.

I crossed my first rivers ever with a motorcycle. Pretty intense as you don't know which bump is coming next! [IMG]

If the stream isn't running very strong, you can see to the bottom. Faster running, not so much. You can always find a downed branch, and poke around first. Best way is to let the other guy/gal go first. Known crossings are one thing, never been there before, a different story. Be ready to hit the kill switch before it goes under, piston doesn't like compressing water.............
