I'm with the group who want to wait till it's been a month. Like YRU, Digiamo, and others, I've ridden for days to get or move this tag, and done it more than once. There's just too much history with OUR egg, from coast to coast, from Belize to Alaska.

If & when we really must bring a new mascot into play, let's try to be able to re-introduce eggy. I've met TH a couple of times, he's not a deadbeat, and I truly believe that whatever's up is temporary. He will get the egg back into play at some point. What then?

Just thinkin'... there have been a few instances where Eggy was perceived as "out of play"
One of my four carries was in late summer 2010, I grabbed it from Oregon and rode it down to Moab, up to Montana, then to a warmer climate where he could continue being played through the winter. Our PRECIOUS wound up snowed in up north through months of bad weather. Not to many of us were happy about whatever decision process brought that about. If folks truly had no patience, they would have ridden through that shit to get it.
That all turned out fine in the long run and Eggy remained in play.

Another time I escorted him on the round trip through Mexico to Belize. We caught shit for putting Eggy out of reach and discussions started about breaking out a new mascot.
Eggy stayed our mascot and all turned out fine in the long run.

The details may be different here, but I see Our Precious as still in play. We are still trying to FIND him only now it’s a group effort. I am confident we will see him again.

Granted, it’s understandable that folks who haven’t spent a significant amount of time with Eggy just want to see the game progress. On the other hand, are those folks really in a position to make a run with the TAG at this time or is it the thrill of seeing it moved by others.

The egg is in Texas...how hard could it be to find? :)

Like I said earlier, I just went to see if the egg might have still been at the last tag spot. I don't have time for a big move and even if I did, I wouldn't want to claim the tag under these circumstances. It would be so much simpler if inmates could play well with others...TH. :deal

I am definitely with the wait and see what hatches crowd. Too much blood sweat and tears invested in Precious. For the crowd that is hot to trot, there is always the USA TOR, Global Wild Card, etc.

I think the issue is that we are not waiting for someone to make the grab. The grab has been made and now nothing, how long do we wait? If we are going to wait a month, then why not two or three months?

As I understand it, a bruce shot would be useful if no pick up shot was posted.
That is not the case since TH posted a legitimate and confidence inspiring shot of Eggy getting grabbed.
Besides, I believe someone already posted a post pickup shot of the last known location.

Agreed, except for one thing. We shouldn't just wait, but actively seek the current location of Eggy.

    TH signed on today...Halloween!

Appologies for getting a bit passionate about all this, but another thought came to mind...

Part of what makes NA-TOR so great is the anticipation and surprise of where it's going next and where it'll turn up. Indeed we have been surprised many times.

I would default to giving TH the benefit of the doubt. This could all be foreplay.
Nothing in his posts indicate his intentions are anything but honorable.

Besides, Boatman has a solid lead. :clap

I PM'd and emailed TH just now.

    Hello TH
As a tagger I don't understand why you are not communicating the where abouts of Eggy. You picked him up about a month ago. Where is he?
If there is anything I can do let me know and I will do what I can.
Eggy has a lot of miles and history with us and we want him back, If you lost him lets us know and we will move on,
    Kind regards

Here is a wild guess, and it is only a wild guess. Perhaps TH handed eggy off to a rally participant to allow for an epic move and TH is waiting for that inmate to post up?

In that case shouldn't they have posted a record of the hand off? Is there a rule for that? I thought of doing that with Nutzy but missed the chance.

I thought that may be a possiblity also.... but you would think TH would at least post up and say this was the case. His reputation is going down the toilet every day he remains silent.

I agree, he could at least post up the pics he has loaded to his PB account and give some sort of explaination.

There is no written rule against the "hand off" but it's kind of taken for granted there is and considered a no-no.

Rules get bent in deference to the spirit of the TOR.
I am the first to admit my enthusiasm for the game has blinded me to these guidelines in order to accomplish hugh moves that could not otherwise be done.

    All in good fun :clap

Assuming TH is healthy, there is a way to redeem himself fully, being Halloween and all.

Eggy should be proud to see the passion all the inmates are expressing! Whether one has had the honor of a 10 mile or 10 country adventure with Eggy, he has etched his name on your spirit as all have etched his shell. Being passionate about your adventure is a true testament to Eggys influence and meaning. He is more than a "rock" egg, he is a symbol of all who has had the privilege to lay claim to him.
Giving TH the benefit of doubt is probably the best course of action and shows compassion. We don't know his adventure, all we know is he was last seen with the symbol that represents many journeys.
