Gents -- I wiped out and ruined my beloved OEM Enduro Computer. This was the stock speedo on 85/86 XR600Rs and 85 XR350R. Does any one have a good unit that they would be willing to part with? I would love you forever and ever Let me know... It looks like this....
http://asheville.craigslist.org/mcy/3056234914.html Not mine, just thought some of you XR350 guys could possibly use some parts.
Here's my '83. Bought this in a box and did a full resto into a vintage GP racebike a few years ago. It's my favorite bike and in the woods, it's competitive against the modern stuff.
nice bike ! I started racing my '84 in local Enduros and while I'm not very good/fast, I have no problems in technical tight stuff and rocky/rootie hill climbs, against more modern bikes. What tires do you use ?
I believe these and parts are still available from Honda [for a small ransom]. I would be heartbroke if I broke mine, too.
I use a dunlop k490 in front, but it only lasts a couple of races before the knobs start tearing off the edges.
I found an 83' but I won't get to see it for a few days. He wants $1200 for it. I don't know the market for these old bikes but it seems kind of high to me. Do you guys think its high or about right. Thanks, JH
Too much and I'd hold out for an 85 model. Single carb, dry sump, small displacement bump to 353 cc. If you're dying for one and in the region, I'd part with mine for $1K
a bit late... but Mark's bike seems good, one carb, dry sump, has kept the engine cooler than the lean adjusted hot running 83-84. If the bike is platted and can be a little more... at least in Kalifornia.... where plated light weight bike brings a small premium.... It all depend on the general shape... tires, chain, which are already $300 worth of parts plus your time. I blew up the headgasket.... 2nd time... the metal has fatigued and the threads are not holding... upon dismantling I found 2 loose bolts... but I could not torque them past 25ft/lbs, I had to remove the head anyway to change the headgasket that burn and was missing a big chunk. Drilled and put new inserts.... not helicoil... It was holding at 35 (specs are 34-38) Need to finish the install and see if it runs better. I may play with some jetting. changed pilot jet from 45 to 48 on the 83, started rather well and 45 to 50 on the 84, started on first kick...results for the trail test later with actual temp. Michel 83-84 XR350 (the runner and the spare)
I just picked up a 85 XL350R. dual carbs and all. I'd have it running, but the fuel joint pipe broke and I am waiting on this part to get in. Any of you guys running a larger than stock tank on your XL?
Clarke has a 4.3gal tank that fits the '85 xl600r/xl350r. I have it on my xl600r and get about 200miles before reserve. the orange/red color is a pretty good match for the frame. http://www.clarkemfg.com/xl600r-8391-xl350r-8485-43-gal-p-89.html
Just put a deposit down for this little baby....... good old eBay Unlike you lucky lot in the "Land of the Free"... prices for bikes is a bit steeper in the UK..... this import XR350R with 10k miles was the equivalent of about $1400 :eek1 Anyhow, I loved my old XL500R... and the 350 is a good replacement
give motion pro a call Im pretty sur ethey could make one up. http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/custom/
