that's what I get for futzing around this morning.... bruced! I was up entirely too late swapping tires, doing maintenance on the front brakes, and swapping in a different rear suspension unit.... going to bed at 4am isn't helpful in getting up bright and early to get out on the road evidently.

I like all those back roads around there - I'll pick a few of the towns, ride out there in the summer and wander around taking pictures in each... some nifty things to see in the small towns out that way. So it was a good ride (and WOW what a difference new tires makes).

I was there not too long after sunrise. Not a soul on the track when I flew by.

Did you raise the rear end of your bike some with the new suspension? Looks taller in the pic than it did last time I saw the bike.

it's about the same height..... now, the tires on the other hand.... that's good for at least 1" :D I checked at night - the headlamp aim is about where it was before.... this is a unit made specifically for this model, so it's pretty much like the OEM unit. They didn't put the adjustable height on it..... although I guess I could get a different lower link and drop the bike a bit.... but I like the height and ground clearance.
The way the front of these things are - you don't need to raise the rear to get a steeper rake / sharper cut in.... this thing will dive into a corner faster than you can think. If you really load it down with luggage, the front can get a bit light (steering will get "wobbly" on deceleration, and you'll get a bit of understeer and run wide in fast turns)... but that's only fully loaded with the stock unit .. this one is much improved (damping is better with a heavier load)

The other tires were pretty bad.... 9000 miles on them - they were very thin in the middle.... much easier to get the bike on the center stand now too!

Great place! 3 MX tracks, an SX track, a pee wee track and a Hare Scrambles course in the woods.

Apparently, no one else showed up for the street bike class this afternoon. I win by default.

    Waiting on my trophy.

    :D

The guy who lives in this house was in Korea and Vietnam. He's sealed up his property like a military base and posts these soldier figures outside his house to keep people away. He also lights them up at night like guards at a post. He's a really cool guy though and salutes me everytime I ride by on the motorcycle. Funny as a hoot to talk to also.

Well I guess I'll just have to take a "scolding" from FB if he doesn't like it; so here we go with our next theme.

Two things that tend to "oppose" each other. Might require two pics.

    North/South Good/Evil Right/Left Up/Down Fast/Slow You get the picture.
