What are you guys doing about fuel tanks?

Awesome!!! Thanks for the link. We just got one of the bikes registered. This is the one that we will mock up in a couple days with the engine, suspension, and wiring. Bring it out to the ranch and figure out the sprocket ratio and all of the other unseen problems. Once we get that one all ironed out, we will build the 4 other bikes just like it in on LONG weekend.
As far as fuel, we will be running the stock tank (seat) and building a rack that holds a larger plastic fuel can on the rear fender (left side). We will have a total of 3 gallons per bike. If we know we will be in for a longer stretch, we will just fill up soda bottles and such. I know a lot of people put dirtbike tanks on the backbone of the CT's but to me, it crowds your legs a bit to much. Especially when your in a sticky situation. Ive rode a long stretch in Nevada with a 2liter soda bottle full of fuel with no problems. Once again, just as a back up.

How much were the engines? I saw that a 125 CC for my sons TaoTao ATV was $125 new! The Chinese Honda clones do seem to be pretty reliable.

What are you doing for carburetors?

Go for it! And like many others, we use soda bottles etc. for fuel containers all the time, they will likely be the most reliable kit you have. Have fun!

Awesome. How long do you have slated for the trip? Will a 125 get you up a mountain? Will you be properly fitted with GoPros? or another helmet cam? Can the guy in the chase van post videos while you guys are out? I really want a play by play on this trip!

You should use the Starbucks coffee bladder trick. 1.5 gallons that rolls flat. I might have a couple laying around here some where.

The coffe bladder is an excellent idea!! Yes, we will be outfitted with gopros and regular cameras. Everytime we meet up with the van we will exchange our memory cards. When ever Josh (van driver) has some wi-fi somewhere he will upload the vids and pics.
