I may have already posted a lot of this but another sponsor plug is never a bad idea :deal....

Boots - To echo Rick's comments, the boots were really a surprise. I loved the vintage look, but was concerned about how comfortable they would be with little to no break-in. They ended up being super comfortable..however, it does take a little longer to buckle them up, due to the vintage style leather buckles. The fit and finish if true Italian...these do not feel like cheap chinese knock-offs. Now, these boots are made for motocross, so if you are planning on using them as a dual-sport adventure boot, they probably aren't the best choice for that.

Pants - The only complaint about the pants was no leg pockets, but this is not an issue for Motocross, just for the long distance races when we wanted to have things like power bars easily in reach. I was worried about the lack of vents, but they are actually well vented with a sort of two layer design...heat was not an issue for me at all. The pants look good and have leather in the right places. Like all of the Trans Am gear, the fit and finish was top notch.

Gloves - The gloves were fantastic! We all initially voiced our concern that they would be too hot because of the full leather design. Jr. and I even bought a second pair of modern-design AXO gloves just in case we hated the leather Trans Am ones. This proved to be unnecessary. All of the Outta Sight racers loved the Trans Am gloves and I don't think there was a single hand blister on any of us after the race! I know that my hands stayed blister-free for the entire race and that is usually not the case for me! They feel and fit like fine leather driving gloves with no chafing from any of the sewn seams.

Shirt - The shirt is very breathable and lightweight, a very high quality product. I had no issues fitting my compression suit under my jersey and of course, the OSR logo looked sweet!

To be honest, I am a big fan of Klim stuff because I think they make high quality gear. I was slightly concerned about what the fit and finish would be of the Trans Am gear just because I had been wearing and racing in Klim for a couple of years. The truth is, the AXO Trans Am gear was every bit as good, or in some cases better, than the Klim gear I wore during the first M1K. I was not missing anything except maybe a pants pocket!

I know that we all get used to people talking up their sponsor's gear whether its really good or not. Sponsorship or not, this gear is really good stuff and was very comfortable...and an added benefit is that we looked pretty bitchin-retro in Mexico!! I am extremely impressed with this gear!

If we can get our bikes together in time, Rick and I will both be sporting our AXO gear at the AHRMA Nationals in Chehalis in August! Come check out the old SL's and the gear!

And a big thanks to Allan for letting AXO use his great photo for their ad!! :clap

It was our team who had the Kali Protectives gear. We were the other sl350 in the race, AKA LameCo Racing...#888.
