:roflYou didn't see me, I was so hoping it was something about the bike such as the tires but when he took a spin on it and went about 50-60mph in that stuff, that idea went out the window!

Riding dirt with a 17 up front is hard for a new dirt rider.

    Been there done that LOL
I have to laugh as I've stood at the top of similar hills a few years ago and said exactly the same thing. It takes practice to build confidence, and I still have a long way to go. At least it looked like sandy soil...much better than falling in rocks. Wouldnt mind trying that class if its done again.

    Nice video.
If you want to get some training in sand, I have three friends that teach a sand class in NJ, then take you out in the Pine Barrens for actual riding in the conditions.
One of the two teachers is a former motocross champ, and the other teacher still races and has won a bunch of races.
Up until I took the class, I was falling in the sand multiple times a day.
I haven't fallen since taking the class, in sand that is.
Gravel is a different story. :rofl
Can't wait til my leg heals so I can ride again.

He taught us well and my brain learned but has trouble telling the body what to do :rofl

I'm going to find some soft stuff locally to practice on over and over and over again until I retrain my instincts to do the right thing naturally without having to even think about it,

We did mud 1st thing in the morning and then this sand, the two things that currently most cripple me,
So now I need to put all my focus on that. Looks like evening runs in the quarry for me now on weekends :D

Ah, ok. I didn't know he taught sand.
    I watched your videos.
Looked like you guys had a great time.
And I wouldn't worry about not going down that hill.
    It looked intimidating.
When I'm back to riding, I'll be heading to the Pine Barrens to ride with my friends.
You're more than welcome to come down and ride with us for practice and fun.
I usually trailer my bike down ever since the first time I rode my bike there.
I can slide my bike over and trailer yours as well if you don't want to ride all the way there.
If you're close to Havertown, you can just meet at my house.
If so, just let me know so I can get some more tie down straps and a front wheel chock.
The reason I have a trailer:
I rode a little over an hour to get there last September for the first time.
I rode all day at the Pine Barrens, then was riding back home through Cherry Hill when I got a flat in my front tire.
Almost went down in the middle of the highway because of it.
I was stuck on the side of the road with no tools, repair kit or tubes for a couple hours on a Sunday.
I ended up getting family members to go to U-Haul and renting a cycle trailer to come get me.
It's quite the sight seeing a Honda Accord towing a KLR 650 on a small trailer.

I'm all way up sort of near Scranton.
But that doesn't count out taking a trip some time with you.
I have a friend that lives in Jackson, NJ and is just the sort of nut that saying I'm coming by him to ride might be what will finally push him over the edge to buy a dualsport. :D

Hell. You just need to come straight down 476 to exit 9 and you're here.
    We usually ride on Sundays.
And if it's too much for you to ride back to Scranton, I have a spare bedroom and a garage for the bikes.
And there are plenty of bars around here.
I think we have the most bars per capita than any other township of this size in all of PA.

At my last track day at NJMP there was a guy there towing his bike with a porsche (and not the porsche SUV). I thought I took a picture of it, but I couldn't find it. That was quite a site.

I bet his trailer wasn't an old rust bucket like mine.
After all, I ride a KLR.
    I'm a cheap ass!

    we'll see
I've skipped out on a few trips with the other guys mainly because it was organized rally things
yuck, I want disorganized free for all riding where I don't have to worry about some too serious jackass thinking there is a real race going on and trying to rudely push past me just so i can find him and kill him slowly later on

Around 1993 or so, at the beehive enduro I saw a guy with a gold wing towing this dolly type contraption that had a KDX200 loaded on it. The dolly kept the KDX front tire off the road, but the KDX rear tire was riding on the road as he towed it.

I don't know how far he towed it that way, but it was unique.
