I thought your video was one of the better implementations of the anti-shake. Seemed to work well.

Now, if there was only a way to crop out the moving black bars.....

[Godamn razr's more of a tease than an over priced strip club:wink:

Good to see people having a blast on the ride. Percentage how much was three foot Sand whoops? Any good fun technical trails or mostly sand washes and fireroads this year?

Happy to see d-37 still putting on the event.

Now get some more pics and video up for us bastards thAt are 9000 miles away.

    It's the desert.
Most of the miles ridden are sand wash and power line / gas line roads, but there's enough challenging stuff to keep even the most experienced rider from getting bored / complacent / lazy. Plenty of hard ways if you want them... :deal

As far as 3 foot sand whoops, I see you've ridden from the railroad to Razor road. :D
That 3 or 4 mile stretch is, for lack of a better word, "special".

Next year is the 30th anniversary. I'm gonna sign up the minute I can.
The lowest rider number I have ever had on this ride was #8.
#257 this year, #205 last year....

the hard route on Day 1 was a "single track" now bastardized into a quad track up in the hills after Last Chance Cyn. that was a blast!

hard routes on Day 2 were 2 track in a beautiful valley of Yuccas and the other hard route was a washout dry river bed with baby head rocks and step ups and step downs for maybe 15 miles. my wrists hated me after that.

then the last hard route is Red Rock Cyn, which really isn't that hard, but has a few spots that you can see in my video

Nice vid ... where was the hard part or did you just make it look easy? Next year gonna skip the long sand sections and go straight to Red Rock.

there is a few spots of babyhead rocks that can fuck you up and riding that ledge can ruin your day if you fall. no joke, some guy years ago on a BMW old airhead dropped his bike and it landed upside down off that ledge to the right (there was a guy standing there in my video) and he had to take off the seat and tank and luggage to get his bike back up (to remove some weight, and he was riding alone, after the sun was setting). by this time, it was dark.
he won the "hard luck award" that year. i think it was 2008.

but it's not really that hard.

of course, each year it get's easier for me as my skills improve.

first 2 years was on my KLR and i was struggling a little bit. find your line and keep up your momentum.:deal

i didn't pick the best lines a few times. see that hiccup i had. oops.:D

and the biggest challenge is the other riders. it's like snowboarding/skiing on a crowded run.
