Thanks Trev, I've been up there once before a few years back, my first bike trip after about 25 years off road riding, & had a pretty good guide to help out. Want to see if the roads/tracks are as difficult as I remember them.
It's all changed Pete, they even get cars up there these days, the power is on (in some places) and you can even get a cold beer here and there . There will be many guides available to you and the options, at all degrees of difficulty, are endless. It's the nights you have to watch out for though!! See you there.
Congratulations to Squily from WA for organising a bike for Sten from Denmark who will be visiting Aus and now travelling to the Classic with the big fella........ That's the spirit.
Got your PM Peter, and your change of mind to a dorm bed. If you could reply with which nights it's no problem at all. cheers
I keep hearing good things about this Flinders Classic thing Put me down for camping if I'm not too late. F,S,S I guess. Are there trees I can hang my hammock from? Cheers. Paul.
Welcome PP, I'm not sure about trees but I reckon an enterprising bloke could find somewhere to tie a hammock. I guess you'll be travelling with the other GTR guys? Cheers
Found another reason not to go to the Para Pub during the Classic, there's a strong rumour that Julia Gillard and the federal tourism minister will be touring the Flinders that weekend. They'd have to be staying there in the posh underground rooms wouldn't they?
Ha ha ha, read about your 'difficulties' over there. There's rumours of some tourism awards being distributed around the Flinders. I wonder if the Classic made a short list?
Both Ministers for Tourism in their own way ....... At least she had her "smokin' jacket" on trying to impress. oser PS ... 'spose most of the young folk won't know what a 'smokin' jacket' is, hey kipo
When they interview her on TV she always looks like she's just had a stroke her mouth is all crooked EDIT: I've just had 3 goes to get the work 'stroke' right, I'm going back to the shed for more beer.
