One of our favorite things to do in DV is to ride to and visit the many miner's cabins and old buildings.
    Here's just a sampling...

Hunter Mountain Cabin. Yes, it snowed up there on one of our trips. From left to right, browneye (me), jnyrav, blaise

Darwin, notice the old gas pumps still standing. Browneye, Kalitrailrider, 1224r taking the pic

I'm gonna have trouble with this one...dannyg, kalitrailrider, 1224r, browneye, and buddies of Danny's that I cannot remember - the Israeli's. :D

Cerro Gordo. Another tough one...let's see, left to right the first fellow I cannot recall, then TheGrinch, 1224R, FZCruizer, Browneye, Conteacher, Dzrtracin, BigTodd, Johngil. These guys are FAST. :clap

And they're all leading rides this year...right??? Joel says I can't setup expert rides this year. LOL.

The 'American' hotel in Cerro Gordo. Very authentic.

We come up from Ownes Valley, below here. Mt. Whitney and the Sierra range is across the valley here. Cerro Gordo is about 9K'. From there the trail is more difficult to reach the Salt Trams, along the ridges of the White Mountains. It's all very scenic - spectacular really.

Inside the old hotel. Johngil shooting pics as well. They built a period-correct bar in there since it didn't have one. Not serving though. :(

If I get a flat on the way, maybe wed, please stop like you did last year. Thanks.
Well, I'm slower than most, just like to cow trail, but usually get to all the same places as the fast boys. Have just as much fun also. Go much slower than I used to. Fat ,tired, worn out, broken down, and as always, ride up and back. No RV, trailer, truck here, just my fat ass on a small bike, 40 miles or 4,000.
    Lets ride.

On the cabins: I couldn't believe how cool the cabins were. First one I saw was Minietta and I was impressed by its condition. Lost Rider also showed us another that was impressive. I'm not sure if it's the location, or a different attitude in the DV area, but everything seems to be better preserved than other desert areas I have visited.

Lots of orders coming in for shirts - a big THANK YOU to all of you that have ordered.
However we are not even close to half of the participants and we all know you're going to want a shirt so get your orders going.

    How to order: http://advrider.com/forums/showpost....3&postcount=12

On a side note...the new ride sign-up website is almost completed, we are just doing final testing and editing.
We'll post up soon and get the group rides going.

The ride sign-up site is freeform - anyone can start a group ride. No problem putting one or more up for four-by's.

Shirt blanks cost more for the larger sizes. One price S-XL. Sorry! :1drink

I cant wait to get to Death Valley. One place Ive always wanted to check out but never have. I cant think of a better opportunity and look forward to make the trip from Wa.
I just wish I didnt have to bring the truck, Riding would be so much more enjoyable. No doubt it will be great time and a chance to meet some new friends.
    Thanks for having us!

Last year was my first trip out there and I have spent my whole life in Southern California. Wish I went out many years before. I put about 550mi on the bike last trip, hoping to put another 550 and see completely different scenery.

IMHO, experiencing DV on a Moto is the best way to take it in. A car insulates you (literally and figuratively) and hiking it is just too slow.

good point....hey wait a minute, that's my take.

like most of you guys, i enjoy the outdoors and back country exploring. being on the motorcycle, i get to see, breathe, hear, feel and smell my surroundings at a very fast rate. all my senses are active, not into tasting dirt though...:lol3

    on a truck, i'm a mere spectator.
