what sort of k,s ya getting out of these? speed rating R 170km,whats the TT stand for?whats you opion of them?
tried these not so good for me ,yes they wear well though, have had a E-07 on the rear wears very well got 10000k out of my last one, looking for more grip is all.
I'm getting between 4 - 5000 ks, but then I ride like a girl (or so I've been told), TT = tube tyre, I find the good on most surfaces, you need to think about what your doing on wet tar, but that's the case with most knobby's the fronts are said to be sketchy in sand.
cheers mudrat might be worth a go with these,i run an ac10 on the front very happy with it,wet tar whats that .........:huh i ride like a girl too so should get some good ks,4-5 is not too bad, how much are they worth arounda bout? happy with the r/r dunlop on the rear just seems a bit skatey in the loose corners ,could be pressure related abit though as i have around 28-30 psi in them.
I pay around $150 for a rear, the Sava can be a little sketchy on gravel corners, but I find them better at around 24 - 26 psi, I run 29 psi for rides with lots of black top. will give the ac10 a run on the front next tyre change
I rode 250 km Yesterday on damp / wet dirt / sand and some tar with a new MC 23 Sava on the rear and a Dunlop MX tyre on the front , sliding around every corner with the silliest grin on my dial , the tyre works way better than it has any right to .... trying to tame 100 HP , I also get aroud 5,000 km from a rear sava and run them around 24 psi on both tar and dirt , I think higher pressure for tar would just flatten the profile quicker , not achieve anything positive . I have found them to be far superior to a 908 RR in all circumstances on my SE . And the are almost 1/2 the price , gotta love that !
Yeah... but on a Super Enduro. Different seat base/fender setup too... to keep the weight off the subframe Plenty of clearance... no heat issues That rack works well. I've had 150kg on it (and another 120kg of me on the seat at the same time)
Yes, I'm in Perth though. See the safari ride report in my sig for pics. They work really well and are my preferred luggage option now.
Well after seeing Hodgo's awesome silver ceramic coated headers for a very reasonable price in the US, I looked into getting mine done here. A huge thanks to Paul and Adam at Thermal Edge Coating in Brendale; they got my order bang on and did a fantastic job! There were two options, silver or black, I went black for the better heat properties but then had the heat shield chromed for the aesthetics, end result.... for less than the cost of a new tyre
Has anyone had there engine pipes ceramic coated as my pipes are starting to look a bit shabby .:huh I have seen there is someone in Melbourne that do the ceramic coating . Any ideas .??????? Tezza
Why did you coat the headers? Just looks? I would be interested to know if the excess heat not being shed by the headers makes the cans warmer. I can touch my Akros with bare hands at any time. Seeing as this is where my bags are I'd be worried about burning stuff, like I used to do all the time with the stock stainless cans. Not an issue?
There is no trick questions , I just wanted to find out some info on what is the best to do with engine pipes that are loosing there shine and looking Shabby ??????????? I did see on Gasoline the other night that there is a place in Melbourne that do the Ceramic Coating . Don the place that Dave had the Headers done at I think is the same place but is closer to Melbourne now . Has anyone had any info on Ceramic Coating on there Engine pipes ???????? Tezza
I used to be an agent for HPC in Leongatha who were the original ceramic coaters in Victoria, another company that has come on board since is JetHot who I think are up around Castlemmaine. Don't be fooled by platers who will tell you they can do it then send it to either of these companies. HPC used to do pickup and dropoff to Eagle Spares in Dandenong. As far as I'm aware these were the only two campanies doing ceramics but it is a few years since I was in the industry.
Maybe you could tell us of the benefit of ceramic coating. I got mine done after seeing Hodgo's. Mainly for cosmetic reasons as mine were quite rusty. I was also told there is a 40-50% reduction in heat. The fact they are coated internal and externally made sense to my little brain. .... Hey guys, I'm currently looking for a 950/990 second hand after selling my Tenere. Noticed the big K's on them and wanted to know what is the expected life expectancy / design life of engine, clutch, gearbox etc. only the one that l have found for sale here in Vic. Would prefer something that has already been kitted up with risers, racks etc but would consider an. Will only be used for blasting up to my farm for the weekend, one week long trip a year and some weekends away as there are three other bikes in the shed. Any idea what a top end rebuild is worth on these twins as the single 640/690's seem to all get 35k before the valves/ seats need to freshened up?
I had my 2 into 1 mid pipe on 950 done @ Jet Hot Coatings , + 1 for finish/ gives better heat dispersion/used commonly on drag cars, have heard good things about HPC too.
