Before we get into the story, I need to give you some details. This trip started out as an all street ride. I was going to join along and hit some dirt along the way. meeting up with the group at designated points. Well All the street folks decided it wasn't for them ( except for one who was riding a KLR anyway). So it was decided that it was going to be a dual-sport ride.

I get picked up by TedShred at 0600. A quick drive to pick up dougholck and and we were off. Only when we get to where we were meeting doug, my KTM decided it wanted to rest already.

No damage. it didn't even fall over, it was just leaning.

It was an uneventfull ride south from Sacramento to San Diego where we will park the truck for 10 days.

Here I am unloading the KTM:

I didn't have time before we left to change my rear brake pads. they had about 25% left. I brought them along so that I can change them in San Diego. Only I got the wrong ones. Oh well, I guess 25% is going to have to work.

We unload and head out for dinner.

I talked the group into going to Little Italy for dinner:

Here is MotoChick who rode pillion on my KTM:

The next morning we load up and get things started.

    Big KTM ready for action:

I'm going to take a break to give the rest of the guys to get some of their pix in. they might (most likely will) have a different story :rofl

Now it's time to figure out the extent of damage to Doug's BMW.....

    KtmNate can fix it.........:evil

OK, Doug is hurting and the bike is hurting a bit as well, but we need to get to San Francisquito so Doug can rest and we can determine how badly he is really injured....

In this pix that MothChick took, you could see where Dougs front went out from under him. He was going 40mph and got launched prety good. There were scratches and broken bits on both sides of the bike. I have to say that he is an animal. I would have just stayed there and cried for my momma!

Alright Motochick, who is leaving stuff out now?

    Here is Escooby and Sarah:

I know MotoChick alrady posted the picture but forgot to tell everyone that he was afraid of men! He wouldn't let any of the guys get close. He would just run. And in the morning he ruled the town. He just ran around across the highway, on the beach.

Another thing you forgot was my bike problems.

The KTM started cutting in and out. At first I thought it was a carb issue. It would surge and backfire. I rode it all the way to San Francisquito and started work. The backfiring really sounded like carb vent.

    while everyone else chilled:
