this is one practical product. a few times we were on the desert and had a flat, wish we had this. the pesty fine sand will get to your wheel bearings. think of mud too.

no, never thought of it for being a handy tent mat. great idea for sure. can be used to prop my sleeping bag pillow too.

good place to practice is indian ranch road to ballarat.

or if you're riding in from trona, make a right to ballarat and go north via indian ranch road. you get your dose of dirt on your way to the campground.

people asking me if i will lead a group ride. no specific plan yet since i have to be back at the campground before 5pm to prep dinner.

GS.. I am planning to ride up in the morning. Perhaps we can team up in the afternoon for a run like Joel describe??

I'm sure it can be arranged.

Closer to the event I'll go over some maps with Joel and my buddy's suggestions and plot a route.

This trip will be my first time to DV. I have Continental TKC 80's on my BMW 650 XC. Will those be fine for this trip? I recently bought the bike used and these were on it.

Those will be fine. Just make sure they have enough miles left in them before you leave. All of the riding in Death Valley is pretty rough on tires.

You probably don't need it but just in case I have a large Coleman propane stove. It's a three burner guide series with two 10,000 btu burners and one 15,000.

I'm pretty set on driving in now. If I don't finish(or start ) in time a generous member has offered his.

geoff....we may need the 3 burner stove, will let you know in a few days.

big favor - lots of people are riding in and good chance many of them will not be able to bring a camp chair. if you're trucking, please bring an extra chair or two to share. thanks.

I am bringing my commercial two burner as well....

If you need, you can borrow one of both of our 3 burner stoves. But I'm riding in, so somebody else would need to transport them

Full size folding table
2 burner Coleman Stove (& coffee)
Large cooler or 2
Hand full of camp chairs

Anybody in the western Ventura County area that is riding up and would like some gear hauled, feel free to PM me.

i will know within a week if we will need the stoves for sure. i am bringing the 3-burner stove too and a gridle. i think cathy has the gridle too.

steve of enduro star is donating a trail stand...

though dv has a lot of rocks to prop your bike, you could use this elsewhere and even in your garage.
