it seems that uni use stock air filter, remove the paper and put their soft material instead of paper. Why not doing the same with a foam from car ?

I've heard that some automotive air filters do the job (Ford Fiesta ?)

Those grey ignition coils that seem to crack, then get wet when you get caught in the rain, well mine did it too, sitting on the side of the 4 lane in the rain is no fun.

Being the cheap ass that i am i did not want to use a Harley coil and i have a couple, i am just saving them.
so i took the cracked BMW coil silicone caulked the cracks wiped off all the excess let it dry wiped her down with laquer thinner and then painted the coil with rubber coat spray bomb, gave it a couple of coats and all is well.

This one has been sold to my m8 over the rd.
When i get my one back it will be blasted allong with the frame wheels and sub frame.

Wheels will be sprayed silver, frame swinging arm and sub frame will be sprayed metallic black.

Can I get the side spring for my side stand for my /6 at a hardware store. Does anyone have an extra one they can measure for length? I heard the ones at/from BMW are much stronger than generic ones. Can I use a brake spring from the auto parts place?

    Thanks.

Why bother reinforcing the swing arm? Is it weak?

This car air filter fit's straight into plastic housing (post 1981 airhead's), once you have cut the old one out. It is a FRAM CA5205.

Is it just me, or is the shackle for the rear axle horribly bent? It doesn't look straight at all in this photo.

so I recently started on an r80gs project and I seem to recall something about the charging light being an issue... like if the bulb goes out it doesn't charge. Is this true and if so how can it be fixed? I was thinking of putting a volt meter on can I just eliminate the light?

All you ever wanted to know, but were afraid to ask - specifically the first link in the first reply explains all regarding the charging (gen) light “fix”.
