I'll be there with my daughter. We're driving back to Tijuana the next day.

I'll definitely be there. Hopefully, my wife will join me. Btw, the place looks spectacular! What a fantastic addition to the neighborhood:clap. I'm seriously considering a 750cc membership.

Are there issues bringing my under-18 boys to the clubhouse?

It's a pretty cool place, and by "cool" I also mean functional. :rofl

We get together every Wednesday night from 6 to 10 p.m. to work on bikes and talk about working on bikes. Maybe 50% in each category. You're welcome to come one night to check it out, completely free. Send me a PM if you want to drop in sometime (including tonight).

Definitely not a problem for this event. It will be completely family friendly, though there may be people drinking beer if you're sensitive to your kids seeing that sort of thing. :rofl.

I'm hoping to leave L.A. on Thursday April 4th. My plan is to ride as much dirt on the way up but stay in a somewhat straight line. I have the route figured out with some great suggestions from inmates.

Rather then going it solo... hoping a few others are thinking same idea.
Planning on camping at New Idria or along Los Gatos Rd's new campgrounds Thursday night.

    Any takers?

Haven't booked anything yet... waiting to get final o.k. from work that I'm clear to go, but I'm considering lodging near P&C... I know it's the "Tenderloin" Industrial district.

Was wondering about the "W" or "Quality I&S". I'm opened to suggestions.

I'm figuring I'll arrive in the city 4pm ish ( +1 hr. if I'm taking lotta pics), and I'd better be covered in dirt or I'll be disappointed.

So I've now been to several evenings at the clubhouse and have some visibility into the parking.

    - The parking meters on both 9th and Folsom go off duty at 6 p.m.
    - The spots tend to clear out around the same time as people leave work

All told, I think we're going to be fine with street parking. This is good, since there doesn't seem to be a suitable parking lot nearby.

Is it legal to occupy the same space by multiple bikes?

Depends. Are you stacking the bikes vertically? :rofl

Honestly, I'm not a lawyer and a quick Google doesn't tell me.

    That said:

    1. After 6 p.m. the meters are off, so anything inside the space should not get a ticket.
    2. I've parked multiple bikes in a space many, many times, sometimes feeding coins into the meter, and have never gotten a ticket (for this infraction).

You learn something new every day.

I still think it's okay to have multiple bikes in a spot in SF.

For starters, it's not a DMV thing. I did learn, though, that there's a local ordinance in Hermosa Beach, CA against this.

    http://www.hermosabch.org/index.aspx?page=430#290

Or you can read it here:

10.32. 290 Limitation on Number of Vehicles per Marked Parking Space.

Only one motor vehicle at a time shall be permitted to park within parking space marks indicating authorized parking. (Prior code § 19-78.1)

That's similar to what i was getting at. And because of the parking rape charges at the ball park, I wondered. And I didn't hear or find anything that did or did not indicate similar in the area.

Got it, but I've never heard of that being a problem for anyone in SF, at any time.

So I was just putting together some flyers for the local motorcycle shops and realized that I've been seriously underselling Pyndon.

    Mea culpa.

In addition to the Dakar this year, where I totally dug his thoughtfulness, skill, and ability to tell us what was going on every night:

    1. He has a background in trials, motocross, supermoto and road racing
    2. (shame on me for not knowing) He covered >90,000 miles on his 950 Adventure
    3. He was the 2011 UK Big Bike Rally Championship winner

AND HE'S FLYING INTO THE BAY AREA, HOME TURF FOR ADVRIDER.COM, FOR THIS PRESO.

It's going to rock. It also looks like it's going to sell out, so go buy your tickets now (this will also help us figure out how many chairs to get, so let us know unless you like standing for a couple of hours ;-) )

    Thanks,

    Daniel
