Looks like a nasty wheelbarrow crash behind your Dommie Stick some grippier rubber on the Dommie and you will surprise yourself how well they handle bends. I have Avon Distanzias now and might try the Michelin Anakees next.
Hi, do Anyone encounter this problem. My is dominator 2000 model. Has been stall at least 5 time whatever I stop. I did the vavle clearance but still Can't solve. Can I check what's the air Screw tune that your have done or what's the standard tune. Pls advice me. Thank you!
For '00 model air screw initial opening is 2 turns out. Maybe your run too lean. If it's keep stalling check for any cracks on insulator - put there cigarette and see if it sucks smoke.
Hi,Madart. How to do whether is run on too lean. Where to check any cranks on insultator. Sorry I'm too new on this bike. Thank alot on your advice.
Insulator (is it correct word for this? manual says insulator..) is the black part between carburetor and engine. If it have a crack, then when you put there lighted cigarette, the smoke will go inside this crack and you will see this. If There is no crack and everything is sealed as it should be, the smoke will go without distortion. It's hard to say if it's running too lean. You can always richer the mixture by turning out the screw. Try 1 turn out from actual position. The mixture screw is located on carb exit, on downside, similar to this picture: tthis carb is not ours but the location is the same. Try to use just a hand and flat driver bit to turn it out (anticlockwise direction)
I have been having a bit of a look at frames and the tank mounts NX650 frame xr650L frame (I think this is the closest match for the NX) xl600 frame mounts look to low and forward xr500 frame (not even close) I will still borow a dr 30L tank to look at but I think that it will sit to far forward to clear to the oil filler on the NX. I am thinking that the xr650L will probably be the closest match, looking like the original NX front mounts will have to be relocated further forward.
DR frames looks like the big DR tank could be a prob as it does sit much more forwad than the standard DR tank 1990 1998
I believe I PMed AJ about his bike a year or so ago. I'm pretty sure the tank is from a Suzuki DR Big. http://www.suzukicycles.org/DR-series/DR750-800S-Big.shtml
I would like to order a motorcycle part from a German site, but they will not ship to the US. If there is someone in Europe who would be willing to forward something to me, please PM me. This is not NX related, but there are a number of Europeans on this thread so I thought I would post it here. Thanks.
Who is running what gearing? Mines got 15/45 which isn't too bad but I have a trip coming up (500 mi slab) Is 16 enough or just go to 17? Thanks
What route have people went about putting SM wheels onto the nx 650? found a 93 one that is in bits and i might take it as a project purely to supermoto it. whats rims will lace to the hubs? what other options are there? could you run it with the standard rear and lace a rear rim to the front? (i know this will be iffy regarding tyre sizes)
http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-735533-p-6.html this? i have read your's and uncle bob's turbo threads previously! actually has me looking at turbo charging the nx if i get it. but back on topic i dont see anything thing there what have i missed?
did a longer strech of highway today (70KM twice) and i noticed my engine is running kinda hot (measured with a dipstick). Outside temperature was around 20C and i was driving +/- 120-130 real KM/h (5500-6000rpm). And temp readout was almost 140!. I dropped speed to 110 and then temps went back to 120. Im pretty sure i could drive along at 120+ before without reaching 140C. I removed the snorkel last week so im wondering if this means the engine is now running lean and thus causing higher engine temps? Only other mods are a k&n filter and a 157 main jet (one size bigger then stock) its a 88 dommie with stock exhaust
Yes, but that view of the thread can be difficult to follow.
