Actually, it simplifies things tremendously as opposed to starting from scratch.

Rooting for Rubby, got to cheer for the underdog and its not possible to get excited by the thought of the boring X-Raid whitewash... Get in there RG and mix it up!

I've just got Hummer, Raptor and Durango. What else is there?

Is that the way he's meeting regulations for production based car? A frankentruck made of various manufacturers parts?

Getting a chassis off the fixture table and making it a "roller" takes the most time. With the drive train mounted, the rest is wiring, plumbing, and mounting Dakar specific stuff. Not a huge deal, but then an SST, like any short course racer, are pretty bare bones. Perhaps you forget that all of the Hummmbuggies were Class 1 race cars prior to becoming Dakar racers. He has yet to build a Dakar race car from scratch.

I thought the same, that this one was a lot shorter between the wheels.

Not debating what it takes to make a Dakar race vehicle, just passing on what I have seen (his shop is down the road from me)and what Robbie has told me about the vehicle as compared to the internet speculation.

When he decides to divulge the details I think you'll agree it is more than a SST chassis build. Similar in platform, maybe. Kind of like a Fox platform Mustang and Lincoln Continental Mark VII. Somewhere underneath it all there are similarities and a few common components but not the same vehicle.
