England-Kev, I pulled the fairing off today. The only info on it is Acerbis molded into the plastic on the inside. There's three metal brackets that it screws to,instead of the headlight housing. I can take some pics of those if you'd like.

There is a really nice looking 81 R80 with a PD tank for sale here in Vancouver BC. Its at Shail's Motorcycles which is a small shop here in Vancouver that specializes in Airheads. I have no affiliation to the shop just putting it out there in case someone is looking for one. Check it out on Vancouver craigslist or I think Shail's also has a website.

Not right now, I'm hoping to do some trips on the bike and may want the fairing. I'll keep you in mind if I decide to sell it. I only removed it to see if I could find any numbers on it for this thread.

    so I have a TITLE ONLY to G/S 2544

See the story here of how I came to own a non-G/S frame and a legitimate G/S TITLE with the same frame number... now being semi-officially referred to as my G//S :rofl:rofl.

    :D

To make a long story short, if any of you good G/S folks know who or how the bike itself got separated from its title, let me know and I can "sell" you the real title..... It is now titled in Florida, it came from OREGON in 02/85.

I would like to help a legitimate G/S owner if I can! Otherwise, this might be the damnedest G//S you ever seen.........:lol3

Hey, it wouldn't be too difficult to weld on a shock mount and modify/remove the old muffler mounts. If a G/S is what you want. Or just build up a dual shock dirt bike. Or whatever...

That would be interesting if there's another bike (or frame) with your VIN.

I've meant to post to the this tread for some time now. Solo Lobo and the lot have been great support as I'm getting ready to do some changes on the g/s.

Mine 1981 (but registered as a 1982 in California for some reason?) it's number 2650. GSHorse was the previous owner. It's mostly stock with the San Jose brace and smaller fork mounted indicator lights. I've found that the battery box is wrong but I'll start another thread for that issue.

If you haven't seen my Flea Market ad, I'm swapping the subframe and fender for the R100, have HT goodies for the tail, and am looking for the R100gs seat and exhaust.

Can you please tell me about subframe, tailrack, pannier racks?

Also, any chance you could post pic of exhaust side?
