    Excellent report!

Your dirtster has made me re-think my opinion of my old Sporty. Perhaps I could have turned it into something a bit more practical. Thanks for taking the time to do this report!

Still following along, Doug. Thanks for continuing to backfill the details even after the fun has ended (for now).

Given the overall performance of the Dirtster - very good for a prototype, BTW. I wonder how a production model would have fared on the market vs the Buell Uly? Or how they would have stacked up out on the real rugged terrain?

Doug delivered a very good presentation today at the motorcycle show, although they gave him a whole 30 minutes (?) and a sub-optimal presentation venue. The announcer said he'd be back to continue his talk at later sessions, but I think he deserved more time. Clearly the most interesting speaker there; I asked him for his ADV moniker and just this evening started reading his journal...

Great ride Doug, but you have really painted yourself into a corner to try to top this ride next year. The pressure is on! Don't let us down! We await next year's report.

We met his guy we met in Talladega the other day... 90cc Chinese motor on modified bicycle. Said it goes over 60 mph, gets 200 mpg. Front disc brake too!

He's put 27K miles on it since building it three years ago, including a trip from Talladega to New Orleans. Said he also has a trailer that will haul up to 150 pounds...

There looks like some clever engineering there, all driving through the original bottom bracket and cycle chain/gears.
