I just opened v3 with OpenOffice and everything looks fine. The graphs update and the notes show.

I don't use a spreadsheet for Trip Planning, but I do use one during the trip to log all my expenses so that I can pass that info along to others.

Great, Now I know how much my trip will cost and I don't think I want to go. Just kidding.
May I suggest total cost per mile traveled?
That way you can have a contest to see who's the cheapest bastard on the road. :rofl

Great job, and thanks for sharing! v4 opened and operated great in excell and openoffice. Now to plan that trip to Mexico... which, due to a recent business venture to China by a compadre, may end up being an adventure to MONGOLIA! If I can quote(somewhat) a recent voicemail... " Mongolia... (followed by several seconds of silence, then a giggle) Mexico ain't %$#@!":D

    Thanks again!:thumb

I'm a cheap bastard, and I like this thing... but since I'm one to hardly plan, it's a little hard for me to use.

How can I possibly know in advance my average cost for food? How can I know the percentage of times I'm going to camp?

For me, this is the kind of tool to use once you get home from a trip.

I like the inclusion of one-time costs and maintenance costs.

Great tool and thanks for sharing.

Do you have a metric version or an unlock so the distance and volume cells can be modified?

    Thanks

Thanks for the comments guys, glad people are finding it useful.

Bbullit - Unfortunately, I don't have a metric version. If you'd like to work one up, though, I'd love to put it up on my site! I'd even give ya credit for it :D

I'll PM you the unlock password.

Cool! Just let me know if you get stuck with excel. Actually, I wouldn't think any of the formulas would change. It's just a notation change. Functionally it should still work if you enter it as km instead of miles or CAD instead of USD, as long as you are consistent throughout.
