I wanted some extra waterproof storage and came across the New Wolfman Rollie bags. They come in three sizes and three colors, black orange or yellow. I bought the large size in yellow. Both bags on sale, shipped came to about $106. I couldn't be happier with the way they have worked out. They mount on top of my Trax boxes and I can still open the box without having to remove the bag. I was so pleased I ordered a medium Wolfman duffel for the seat. Purchased from Motostrano They are having a sale and if you use the ADVrider code you get free shipping on $100+ order.
*bump. I'm looking at the rollies trying to figure out which one would be a decent size for a compressed sleeping bag. Any input would be appreciated.
I am looking at the small and medium. I would like to have one for each side. I believe the small and medium will work with my boxes. I plan to put my ground cloth and rain fly in one rollie bag and my walking shoes in the other. The things that have dirt on them daily. I don't want to stuff all that dirt in my clean side boxes. I am ordering one of each. I will post some pictures of them all mounted up, once they arrive.
It really depends on how big you sleeping bag compresses down to. The ones pictured are the Large size.
this would completely depend on the sleeping bag...down? synthetic? 0 Degree? 30 Degree? I have a 30 degree down bag that would fit in a Rollie small.. with room left over,, but my 0 degree down bag would need a medium and my 0 degree synthetic bag would prob need a large.
yes i have...but honestly a dedicated compression sack,, with compression straps will get your bag smaller than you can get it in a rollie by itself. I prefer the ones with some sort of vent, either a valve or Event like this http://www.seatosummit.com/products/display/1 w/o a vent you can trap air. So for straight waterproof compression of a sleeping bag, I dont think a Rollie is a good idea. IMHO YMMV
My problem is that the panniers (hepco) on my 950 are too small. I am looking for a way to mount my sleeping bag on the outside of the pannier. I have seen guys who attach rollies to the outside of their panniers, exactly what I am planning to do. I have a compression sack for my bag.
yeah.. I think the Rolies would be perfect for that.. the mounting system built into the bag will alllow you to use any flat webbing to mount them to your panniers... dont need the Wolfman dedicated straps. Or you could use something like this http://www.twistedthrottle.com/twisted-throttle-dryspectm-d28-dual-end-waterproof-motorcycle-dry-bag from Twisted Throttle.. but the Rolie stuff is cheaper.
I have 2 small rolie bags (impulse buy, should've bought med or large), not sure what to put in them though. They will be either on top of my rocky mountain saddle bags or the crash bars on the GSA. What do you guys use them for?
Mr Slowpokey How did the Rolie bags work out for you? If you want too sell the smalls so you can upgrade too the mediums, shoot me a price... I'm thinking on mounting a pair of the small bags to the crash bars on my 2013 V-Strom Adventure. That would gain me some storage space. Has anyone done that? Gadget Man
hey gadget man, I'm going to hold onto them, at least for now. I found a way to attach them securely to the GSA crash bars. One bag holds my compressor, tire repair kit and TP (never leave home without it).
Mr. Slowpokey. That's ok, since I posted that comment a couple weeks back I have made my own bags that attach to the crash bars. They turned out great. Gadget Man
