Me too! I didn't dare get within 10' of it fresh out of the paint shop and all!! Like I mentioned it is having carb issues so it will be here and test flying for a few more days, I'll try to get some video.
My shop on the 4th floor in Las Colinas looked out over the East Side runway at DFW. Then they moved me to a shit hole in another building.
I swear I saw her up in the air yesterday afternoon.....but did not catch her flying with my camera.....
Not sure if I posted this before, but since we're on Corsairs... This guy stops by for fuel occasionally. He asked for a low approach after departing, so we cleared him for it. This what the security camera caught.
Ours stay nice and cozy in the heated bays and plugged. Yours should be good to go as long as they keep them plugged in to keep the batteries up and blocks warm. We've never had any issues with the cold temps.
It's always plugged in (usually trip on the cord since they park it infront of the hazmat container ), but they were having trouble getting it started yesterday. Charge sounded low according to the starter.
Here is a picture of not one but two M1A2's in the cargo compartment of the C-5M SuperGalaxy. The C-5A and C-5B could do this, but not very easily. The SuperGalaxy can, and can deliver this payload anyhwere it needs to go. The lighting system inside the cargo compartment is a far cry from the incandescent system we have on the A/B's. Just...freaking...awesome! (As a side note, that is the cleanest C-5 and the cleanest tanks I've ever seen)
That might have been from the load certification test flight given the civilians standing around. The Air Force is very picky about cleanliness when they give Army hardware a ride. When we had QRF, we would have to get the tanks spotless and wrap all the tools in sandbags to prevent metal on metal contact (sparks?), and then we had to clean them again before parking them on the ramp.
