I like the caption under the wheel with the bead halfway off, "Pulling the tire off the wheel is made easier with the right tools". Those were NOT the right tools.

I might be in for a mild DS ride soon.

Last week I cleared the final hurdle in throwing a dual sport specific Trail Talk...had to get my MSF Dirt Bike school done in order to satisfy .gov policy :) So, is anyone here interested in attending or helping me plan a Dual Sport specific Trail Talk? It would have to be a fairly mild trip, preferably starting at a staging area on public lands. When I say mild...under 100 miles on mostly easy trail surfaces that are doable with 80/20 street dual sport tires. Some challenges along the way are good, but a 100 miles of hard riding is not exactly what I want to do to the public. I would like to make it accessible to someone new to dual sports and perhaps sporting stock tires.

My first ride is chronicled here...I certainly don't want to do that to a random member of the public :) I have since upgraded to D606's

Those guys usually do easier trails and the last couple of meeting have been pretty stacked with riders.

My sugestion would be a section of the GWT that is signed. Most of it is very easy and having signs would make it much more fun than a follow the leader ride in his dust.

Heya Jeff,
I was out there today from about 10 till 1. I stopped by your trailer to meet you several times and the two guys that were there told me that you were out on a ride... and hadn't come back yet.

If you got a chance to walk around and see some of the other tables, my parents had the mystery tools museum display right on the other side of the fence from you... by the donkey.

FYI, I noticed our newsletter is bouncing off your account. You might want to try to sign up again or email me with the address you want to use.

Those hitchers I picked up in the parking lot that joined us for the Trail Talk were pretty funny. The whole ride out, the lady was trying to convince me that cattle and OHVs do not belong on public land! I think she changed her tune when I noted that an OHV (my tacoma) was was hauling her out to the ruins on roads that cattle ranchers created :) Always good to show OHV in a positive light!
