Throw some Starbrite StarTron in there, run her a bit and enjoy a problem free carb and fuel for a looong time!
Not yet, Spirit is at the cabin that I will move into soon, after I'm there I'll see if I can rent a heated storage unit so I can work on her in the winter.
Thanks Jim! How are you holding up not riding Desiree??? I'm working a LOT!!! Hopefully I'll be able to start saving as soon as my little ducks are in a row
He NomadGirl, Let me know your new address when you have it. Your Scotts Damper is paid for and ready to ship. Also, please confirm what year your bike is as to ensure I send you the right one.
Hey Stan, Spirit's "Birthyear" is 2005 Thanks so much Bro, looking forward to finding a good garage for her so I can start spending more time with her again. Getting her ready to go for next year
Hey, NomadGal, I've been a lurking fan for quite some time. Your RR has me dreaming of doing the same someday. But...I had to come out of hiding when I realized it's been a WEEK since you last posted! Hope all is well. You have created hungry fan-friends. Feed the beasts, please!
I was just wondering where you are too! What's the weather like up there now NomadGal? Regards....just jeff
Hi everyone! My house sitting/dog sitting days are over! Even though I love dogs, boy are they a lot of work, especially puppies! I'm glad to have my own life back. I've built a kitchen countertop with sink and tiled it for my friend whose dogs I watched. She loved it. Now I'm staying in her camper again, just for a few nights, waiting till I can move into my own cabin. It's freezing in there and no heat, so I run the little gas stove's burners to warm up the place, which seemed like a good idea except that I ran the bottle empty. so this morning I luckily remembered that I had my little propane camping stove in Spirit's pelicans. Yay! Warm tea at least. Yep, I'm riding Spirit again seeing as Anna needs her car again. So yesterday she drove me to the cabin where Spirit was parked and I charged the battery back up and she started no problem Riding in freezing weather is interesting. not too bad actually except for my feet, hmmmmm heated pedals???? Just like heated grips?? I got one great surprise yesterday, I get to move into my cabin tomorrow, Sunday Oct 20th, which happens to be my dad's birthday. I'm so stoked!!! Seems like the wait was forever, but now the day has finally come. Still no car, the last one I looked at was a Flintstone car, literally! you could see the road beneath your feet. There was a lot wrong with the car body, but the engine was sound. So I am thinking about it, got to fix the floor, the headlights, and the windshield which is cracked so badly that it makes me wonder how come he hasn't had a ticket for it. Anyways, ore as soon as I have moved into my cabin, with pics and all
Hey little beasts, just posted something. The weather has been yo-yoing, from 20 to 50 up and down, rain and sun and snow. It looks like it should start being winter soon though, everyone tells me it's been a weird october. I'm glad it's not too cold right now this way I get to ride Spirit some more. The days are shorter though, light at 9 am dark around 6:30. Soon it will be dark all day.
Been following your travels and it sounds like your settling in. Oh, be careful of how you heat your home. Carbon monoxide is always a concern. Hope you find a good car/truck that has good heater. Bill.
Be very careful if you try to heat a small space with any un-flued gas burner such as a cooker. They can result in a build up of CO (carbon monoxide) with disastrous consequences. In New Zealand we have had several tourists die in rental campers because they tried to heat them with the gas cooker and then fell asleep and did not wake up.
Welllll........... One thing is for sure, my life is never dull! My new "landlady/friend"just dropped a bombshell on me last night She said she didn't feel like me living in the cabin was going to work out. I just moved in last Sunday! She was worried that I would not make the rent in time, and that a few things were bothering her about me. I think part of her reaction was my fault, part fate. Joann's misplaced the paperwork of one of the work shops I did and didn't pay me for it. I ended up being $150 short and told her when I paid her the rest of the rent that I would have it no problem by the next paycheck. I wrongfully assumed she was okay with that, being my friend and all. She let me driver her car for a long time, let me live in her home, and in exchange I took care of her dogs, cleaned the house, got a new battery for the car, etc. Money does strange things to people, and the fact that she just came back from her second vacation makes me wonder if she spend a bit too much. Anyways, I try to see it from a positive side. The cabin wasn't cracked up to be all I thought it would. well, maybe the cabin did but not the surrounding area. The previous tenant left all his crap lying around and parked right in front of the cabin. A couple of trailers and 3 dead caribou hides still bloody hanging on the line. Yuck! I felt like I was parked in a junk yard. So here I am, riding Spirit to work in 22 degree weather and having to look for another place to live. The car hunt is not over yet either. Like I said, I am looking at this on the positive side, there must be a better place for me somewhere. At least I still like my job, and that says something even though it doesn't pay well. I'll post more once I know what's going to be happening. Keep your fingers crossed for me
Hi Esther, I wish you a happy birthday and a good place to stay this winter! Did you manage to find a good car yet? I hope you will have lots of fun today. Love you, Nomadmom.
Yikes, sounds like a crappy situation! Hopefully it's for the best... Thinking of you, and happy (belated?) birthday!!
