Well it is done, I joined the "fog-light club"
Had to do some "accomodation" but they are working now!

but I have 3 screws over, well can't be that important right? :lol3

Mc Gyver style: I cut too much cable off so I had to open a powerstrip and take some wiring out. Well the result is there:

    Works like a charm :clap

Bought a Rally seat on ebay, hoping for an improvement over the regular seat. Sat on one at the dealer, liked what I felt. Tired of getting pushed into the airbox.

I like it much better than the standard seat. Can't say it feels any different in the foam/softness of it but the shape of it is much improved.

I also replaced the left heated grip, which was ruined an not heating because I knicked element trying to get rid of the sh*tty stock grips. Then I successfully cut off the stock grip from the new one, and mounted Renthals. :clap

Oh... and I test fit my GL bag, because I'd never done it before, and figured I should start now instead of the day I'm trying to leave :huh

The painted windscreen is done. Not sure about white. I ordred a shorter screen from That Other Bike, might just use that instead, or chop the white one down, or... :scratch

I still have to paint the tool tube mounts, then I think I'm ready for Death Valley... unless my XM antenna gets here before I leave. :rofl

My F800GS has gotten some surgery done at hyperpro :clap. Bas at Hyperpro is an awesome guy, fixed it up faster than i could have done. Unfortunatly he did find a couple of things like shot head bearing and shot front wheel bearings. One thing was weird though, looks like my axle end bolt was never installed :eek1, Bas said i might have lost it recently but i looked at some old video's and photo's i have and there is no bolt in any of them, since it left the dealers.

I dropped it on the pavement! Brand new bike!!! I went to rock it off the center stand and my foot slipped in the gravel and it fell over... I don't have crash bars either. Surprisingly, there was not a single scratch anywhere... close call.

Just ordered an Elka Stage 4 rear shock.... I missed out on the group buy for them, but they just lowered the price of this shock from $1245 to $995, pretty good deal if you missed out and want/need a new rear shock!

Departed my lair at 0645 hrs local -6C outside. Linked up with friend on his frakenbuilt 650 Versys Adventure machine, rode 200km's to dealer for first service on 2013 800GS. Barely made it dodging ice and deer. Rewarded ourselves with victorious bacon and eggs meal served by a rather nice Czech model, purchased new riding jacket, picked up lu lu lemon pants for wife, had an altercation at a gas station which resulted in a jab to the face, raced an R6 two up and won, had a beer on a patio, buried new bike in mud, returned home smoke a cuban and had a pint.

    sitrep ends.
