I sent a few Washington hardcore singletrack riders to the Sequoias over the weekend and I got a text this morning saying it was some of their favorite riding. ever.
they were in Death Valley and making their way home, so we handed them a map of the area.
they plan on coming down this summer to ride the Piutes with us.

Yeah, One only needs to refer to the first post of this thread where I said "some of the best riding on the planet" If you like single track and the Gnar, this is the place.:eek1

I'm one of the 3 WA riders that RAZR sent to this gem of a riding area. Sweet Jesus was it amazing...and we only rode it for 1 day. Terrain seemed limitless with the Piutes south and southern Sierras to the north. You guys for sure have it good here. As I told RAZR this is one of the best areas I've ever ridden and despite having just got back from the ass-jarring 29 hr road trip I'd almost be convinced to go back down for some more.

Luckily we had a tour guide that we met at camp the night before, said he'd been riding the area for 20+ years (Scott or Steve?). Him and his crew took us down Kern River Valley trail for awhile then up something to snow-line, down something that eventually took us to Dutch Flats then home...great ride.

Nice meeting you and your boys RAZR, looks like a rowdy fun crowd that I hope to ride with soon. Thanks again for the map!

That's a good story, have another one?
Scott? Happytrails maybe? Rayvon, were you up there?

I was the other loud mouth with RAZR going over the map with you. So you hit Kern River Valley Trail? Nice choice for a single day. Did you stay on long enough to hit the cliff section with no turnaround that we were mentioning :clap

They'd know for sure, just about zero room for error, especially the 1 little drop off:freaky

It was Scott, Bob (73 yrs!), and a few other guys whose names I can't remember. One on a DRZ and the other on a Yamaha that started out the day real pretty.

I'd guess we did not go to the point of no return on the river trail as none of it we had hit seemed overly consequential...what a nice trail though.

Single day wasn't near enough for us, could've stayed until the snow cleared...just not in Lake Isabella...that place was weird.

Nice recommendation on the Kern River Brew Co. They had a IPA (Cittra) that even us NW'ers would be proud of.
